The weekend was pretty good, all in all!
It’s a long weekend, and what am I doing? Working! What’s with that?
Okay, I didn’t work the whole weekend… but I did work Saturday afternoon for a client who just HAD to have his project done for Monday, after leaving it until the last minute. Sheesh. I bet *he* didn’t work on Saturday. I really can’t bitch too much, though, because it’s money, and money is good.
Friday night, Ed came over again, and we yacked all night. It’s good to have friends that you can talk to, and know that it’s going nowhere but to the person you’ve confided in. He also doesn’t hold back his opinions just because it might hurt my feelings. Sometimes we need people like that in our lives to hold us accountable. I’ve found he’s a reasonable, fair, and surprisingly well adjusted (for a guy…)
Saturday, after working for most of the afternoon, (and getting up freekin’ early to see Deetria for a long-awaited massage at an unGodly hour), I went out to Roger’s going away party in Port Moody. I’m going to miss him SO MUCH! I can’t believe he’s going away to Peace River, Alberta tomorrow!! At least he’s following his dream — becoming a helicopter pilot — and shirking a job that he really wasn’t having much fun with. Good for him.
Today, I slept in a bit later, and then headed off for brunch with Roger to properly say goodbye (he was busy socializing last night, so I didn’t get much chance to talk with him). I then spent a couple of hours updating this site, and helping Chris with his PHP-based blog. We got it running, and configured the CSS the way he wanted it to look… so he’s a happy boy now. At least he can update his blog from anywhere now, and not have to mess with html code every time he wants to add something. It’s sure nice to have a comment section on blogs too. I’m glad he decided to go with b2′s blog system.
I saw Matrix Reloaded tonight. Although I truly enjoyed the special effects, I did find the fight scenes a little drawn out, and repetitive. The chase scene was remarkable, and I didn’t find the plot overly arduous. All in all, it was entertaining, and I’m looking forward to seeing the next one in the late fall.
That’s it for me tonight, kids! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Soggy camping, anyone? (teeehheeeee… I knew better! This is, afterall, BC on a long weekend!)
