Six more sleeps!

Yay! I’m on vacation a week from today… I *so* can’t wait! It’s been a year and a month since I last got away, and these upcoming 11 days will be an awesome escape. What I’m most looking forward to is getting lots of hugs from Chris — he’s such an awesome hug giver! He’s got lots of plans for us while I’m down there, including Six Flags, (Yay! I haven’t been on any amusement rides at all since my accident in early 1997, and my back feels like it can take it these days!) an Eagles concert, a possible quick road trip to Oklahoma to see that area, and several nights out seeing the nightlife in Dallas. I’m not sure if I should be afraid of “Billy Bob’s” — the biggest country bar? LOL… this chick isn’t much of a country bumpkin, but I’m sure I can blend (a little?). We’ll have an awesome time.

My birthday is being celebrated this Saturday… starting at Milestones in Yaletown, and then heading out dancing the night away somewhere downtown. Should be great fun… I’m kind of bummed that Todd and Diane can’t make it out, but we’ll be getting together on my actual birthday (Monday) to have dinner together, so that’s cool. I hate birthdays. I hate them more when I have to organize everything myself. Don’t I sound like a spoiled brat, huh?

It’s WAY too nice to be working today! As I didn’t work from Vern’s place last summer, I didn’t realize just how hot it gets in this place during the day when the ambient temperature outside hits 30°C. There’s no escape, either… unless I cut out early and head off to the mall or something to get that blast of cold air. Malls are not my friend, though. I’m not much of a shopper, so that doesn’t seem like the best place to get some cool air. Tanning doesn’t work for me either — I’m extremely pale, and I just burn in the hot sun. (Ya, and I’m going to Texas for my vacation! (grin)) SPF45 anyone, anyone?

Jenn, Deetria and I went out earlier this week to Zigs for some beverages! Man that was a fun night — I knew those two would hit it off, and I wasn’t wrong! We need to do the girl’s night out thing much more often… I thoroughly enjoyed that. I’m so happy that they are both going to make it for the Saturday night festivities! Woohoo!
