YAHOOOOOOOOO!

Yippeee! Woohooooo! I’m sooo excited, AGAIN! LOL!!

I booked a cruise today! I figure that I should give myself two weeks vacation time each year to get away from things… so I’m off to grab Chris on September 7th to enjoy a week of sun and relaxation aboard the mighty Carnival Conquest! Teeeheeeheeeee! I love cruising… this will be my sixth cruise, and Chris’ third. We’re booked in an outside cabin, and man did I get a great DEAL! As I took most of today off, (HAPPY CANADA DAY, EVERYONE!) I was able to scout around the net for the best prices, and the itinerary that would suit both Chris and myself. We’re leaving out of New Orleans which means that we can drive there, and save a bunch of cash, rather than flying to and from a cruiseship departure point such as Miami.

I’ve never been to New Orleans, Louisiana… so this will be an *almost* all new adventure for me! I have, however, seen Jamaica (but the other side, Ocho Rios) and I’ve been to Cozumel once before. This time, however, I want to do much more snorkeling on my trip, rather than shop. (I’m really not much of a shopper!). Chris is looking forward to as much beach time as possible, which will be interesting! I’ve never travelled with anyone who enjoys just laying on the beach. I’m sure that I’ll have plenty of time to play in the sun and the surf while Chris takes in some relaxation on the sand. Woohoooo… this is going to be soooo much fun!

The ship we’ll be on is the largest in the Carnival fleet at 110,000 gross tonnes, and holds close to 5000 passengers and staff. There’s apparently 22 different bars and clubs on the boat — hmmmm… wonder what I’ll be doing? LOL! I’m really looking forward to enjoying the Blues bar that they have, as well as the “Supper Club” experience which gives you an opportunity to book a private table at an exclusive restaurant for a small fee. Sounds darn romantic to me! (GRIN!)

So, now the countdown begins to my 7 night adventure in September! Only nine weeks to go until we’re arriving in our stateroom! That’s not far off… I think I’d better consider getting into better shape in the meantime — there’s a good goal! (From what Chris has said recently, we’re both on the same goal path at the moment, health-wise!).

Last night was fun! Deetria came over at the last minute, and we went off to Red Robin’s for dinner… and then back here to catch up and laugh a bunch. Then, Ed came over to join us as well… and we ended off the evening watching Vern play his XBox :) Good times… LOL!

I love summer!

I’ve been on other Carnival ships, and although they aren’t the most elegant of the cruise lines out there, all but my last cruise with them was soooo much fun!

I’m counting down the days til I leave :)

Hey Col! You, Harp and I should meet soon… I read all about your lives! LOL…

Hmmm, 110000 Gross tonnes… Okay sounds cool until you realize that a ship that big has a lot of HUGE WIDE OPEN mall-size spaces inside. This means that when it hits one of those unavoidable caribbean icebergs, watertight integrity goes straight out the window. I hate boats, and the ocean… mistrust both, so although this cruise is probably way cool for you all I can think of is Titanic II! LOL. I’d be choosing a cabin right next door to a lifeboat station.

Hmmm… Ed. Me thinks you might be jealous? Teeheeeheee…. ya, no. Probably not.

We missed you tonight?? What happened to ya? Vern was bummed that you weren’t there! Hey, then again, so was I!

I think it’s the mySQL database — it’s kinda acting up lately. ((grrrr)) It plays with me and taunts me regularily.

…All that from an intangible. I think I need medication :)
