Out with the old, in with the new!!

I have a *new* baby on the way. Now, Dad, don’t have a heart attack! It’s not what you think! ((GRIN)) I ordered a brand, stinkin’ new Dell laptop today. Woohooooo! It’s SWEEEEEEET! (Cartman would be proud of that impression, trust me). If you want to see a picture of it, click here.

So, you ask, what’s happening to my older Dell? It’s off to a good home with Deetria once my new one has been confirmed as shipped, and on it’s way into my hot little hands. (ahem, actually, Chris’ hot little hands to be more precise!) I had to get it from Dell USA, as Dell Canada wanted to rob me of an extra $540 bucks for the exact same machine. I’m scratching my head over that one. Heck, I’ll take that money and go to Texas and pick up my laptop there! You’d think with the way the Canadian dollar is, we’d be getting a decent deal on computer peripherals at the moment. That’s absolutely not the case, obviously. Sigh. Oh well, it’s a great excuse to go down and enjoy Texas again, and spend some time with Chris. Yay!

I’ve been pretty busy, lately. Last Thursday was Vern’s birthday (I’ll post pictures in a new album in the photo section, tomorrow) and that was fun. About 15 of us or so went to a nice restaurant, Cardero’s, and sat on the deck overlooking the water for dinner. Afterwards, a bunch of us went off to see Terminator III — it was a better movie than I expected, actually. The only weirdness to the evening was that Vern’s recently ex-sorta-girlfriend made an appearance, but didn’t stay out with us for the whole evening. I guess because the change in their status had happened recently, she felt she was obligated to make an appearance since she practically begged me to help her to set the whole evening up. I’m glad it wasn’t a scene, and actually turned out pretty decently… all said. It was funny to meet someone that Vern had dated since we had dated, and I am glad that I got to meet her. It really confirmed just how much Vern and I are great friends, and absolutely nothing more than that. We really make great roommates… I’m so pleased that our situation has turned out so well. I couldn’t have asked for anything better, to be honest!

It was a pretty busy weekend, last weekend too… it ended off with Deetria and I spending a few hours at Barnet Marine Park, walking along the beach, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Afterwards, we hit the patio at Milestones for a Bellini! (YUUUUUMMMMMM) and appies. Good times!!! (again, pictures are coming from that late afternoon walk tomorrow in the photo section).

These last couple of days have been insane for work. I LOVE being this busy… but I’m quite tired too as I pulled an all-nighter last night to keep up with all the lingering deadlines. I can’t believe I’ve taken on four brand new clients at the same time, as well as maintain my awesome long-time ones. It’s been fun!

Speaking of which, I really need to get some sleep. I haven’t slept in, oh, a very long time. Goodnight all. Thanks for stoppin’ by!

ps: I want comments: I am thinking of adding a webcam to this site, as well as a guestbook… any opinions on this? Do you think the webcam would be more of a distraction than it’s value? I’ve had a webcam a long time ago, but back then, I didn’t work in the same room as I slept. I guess I could always move the cam when I’m crawling into bed??
