Adventure, anyone?

I’m finally feeling better. Okay, at least I was until I looked at the Dell shipment tracking system this afternoon.

Guess where my laptop is? Get this… WASHINGTON STATE. What is *with* that?? I had called into Dell on the 13th as they were packing it up and asked them if they could change the address to a WA state address, and after taking all my info, they said they couldn’t GUARANTEE that it would definately ship there. After hearing this, and then hearing that if it was a PO Box, they couldn’t ship it there, I said to them to forget I even asked. I assumed at that point that they would have, um, taken out the shipping info for the change of address?? Um. No. Dell thinks that they shipped it to TX, and even charged me tax for that state… but they shipped it to a big black hole in Washington state.

Sooooo, ya. Guess where I’m heading to in the morning? (and might I add… VERY early in the morning) To none other than Mount Vernon, WA to go to the local courier there to pick up the shipment before it gets on some truck destined for an address that won’t be able to sign for the shipment. Oh, ya, did I mention that if that shipment gets refused, it would probably go back to Dell in Texas? All the while, I might add, the clock is ticking on my return policy should something be wrong with it.

Sigh. I was really angry earlier, but at this point I’m just glad that Deetria has decided to participate in this little adventure to hunt and gather my new laptop. It’s going to be expensive to get it across the border, but at least I won’t have to worry in the future about bringing my system back and forth from the states as it’ll have all it’s taxes paid for Canada. This has been a crazy situation from the start. All this to save a couple of hundred dollars. Oh well. The drive with Deetria will be fun, anyhow… even if it means me getting up at 5am.

Today was a busy day of meetings and photo shoots with clients. It was pretty fun actually, but I didn’t feel like I got a great deal accomplished. All I can say is that I’m glad that I’m feeling much better than I was! Harrrahh!

Goodnight everyone — I better get my four hours sleep in while I can! (I’m now wishing that I hadn’t had that coffee *just* before I checked the Dell website for the shipment date.)
