Geek Night, cuz it’s Friday!

I had an awesome night tonight. Ed, Deetria, Vern and I started off with a few drinks and appetizers at Milestones. We laughed ourselves completely silly there, so much so that we actually thought we’d be kicked out from the amount of silliness we were exuding from our table.

We all enjoyed yacking about everything that has been going on lately. Afterwards, we headed back to my place to do some geeking out. Geeking out tonight consisted of Ed checking out the possible “mod” of Vern’s XBox (which didn’t happen as Vern didn’t want to take the chance of doing a “soft” mod, only to have his box no longer accept his XBox Live capabilities. I thought it was very neat that you can mod a box without even opening it up and doing anything physical to it.

I bought out the new laptop to the livingroom to download some tunes while we were all catching up. Vern and Ed taunted me about downloading viruses and making a mess of my new machine — I don’t do very well with humour of this nature, as there’s no sense of humour when it comes to my livelihood, I’m afraid. I rely on this machine too much. We downloaded some Southpark episodes and watched one newer one that made fun of J-Lo. I couldn’t believe the extremes that Southpark is going to these days to make people laugh. It was *over* the top!

Ed just left — I think the fact that Deetria borrowed my “Winnie The Poo” jammies freeked him out. Mind you, it’s getting late… but hey, Deetria and I are just getting started in the yacking department! I was a little concerned earlier that Deetria was a little bored, because I know that she doesn’t enjoy technology as much as Ed and I do. She assured us she was having fun listening, but made us aware that she doesn’t understand the computer lingo as we do. Maybe she’ll enjoy it more as she participates more often in our “Geek Outs”. It was good, anyhow.

So here I sit… having some really fun conversation with Vern and Deetria. It reminds me of what’s important in life — spending time with good friends, and marvelling in the charmed life we all lead. I’m lucky to have such wonderful friends.
