How to waste time, 101

I can’t believe I got caught up in online personality tests all afternoon… after sleeping in until [gasp!] 1pm! (Okay, I did actually wake up earlier, have breakfast, and lay back down to read for a bit, only to fall asleep again).

It’s all Vern’s fault. Really. It is!

He went to work after waking up about as late as I did… and had mentioned on MSN that he was just finishing one of the emode.com tests while trying to become engaged in his required workload. Curious, I had to go and check it out myself, and ended up spending several hours on IQ Tests (did ya know I was a genius? LOL!!) personality tests, tests about sexual partner compatibility, and even tests to tell me what breed of dog I was. (should I happen to be a dog?) Good God. How retarded is that? But, alas, I filled out the tests — and had a great laugh doing so. I am still trying to decide if Vern’s test scores or mine made me laugh harder. Talk about wasting away an entire afternoon…

That said, though, I am of the mindset that one should take time for frivolity on occasion, so I don’t feel bad taking that time for the enjoyment of it. Heck, according to my test results, I’m worth it!

I felt kind of bad being the source of the continuation of Vern’s procrastination, so after he finished off his work this evening, I took him to see a late show of “American Wedding” and totally laughed my ass off. How funny is that movie? I’ll admit that I found the [overt] sexual undertones of the movie particularily halarious. Hmmmm… okay, maybe it’s because I’m single, and I’m finding the sexual nature of the jokes overly funny due to my current state of celebacy? Sigh — let’s not read too much into it — I had fun. It’s all good.

Last night was fun… up until I jammed on Deetria for further partying later into the evening. Deetria and I started off the night having dinner at “Incendio” — an excellent restaurant beside Fifth Ave. Theatres. YUM! We just drove by it on the way into town and decided to stop there for food, and I’m sure glad we did. Great Italian food. Great service.

After dinner we headed off to meet up with Jenn, Paul, and Rob (a friend of Jenn and Paul’s — who, funny enough, found this blog out of sheer luck after meeting me at the Aimee Mann concert with Jenn — do, dooo, do, dooooo) We had a great yack at Doolins while drinking a couple of beverages — it’s always good to catch up with Jenn, Paul and the gang. Unfortunately, though, because of the wooden bench I was sitting on, my back was just killing me by about midnight when we left, and I really just wanted to go home and lay on the floor. I felt so bad, because Deetria was really looking forward to going out dancing afterwards. I just couldn’t do it, no matter how hard I tried to get into the mood. Sorry Dee. :( I know she was dissapointed.

I guess I should get to bed, as it’s way late again. That’s what I get for sleeping in ’til so late today. (No, I won’t say this morning… ) Goodnight all! Thanks for visiting!

:D
