Fun stuff!

It was Lorelei’s birthday on Wednesday… (Happy Birthday!!) and I took the afternoon off to go on her annual birthday hike with her. I’ve been working out a heck of a lot lately, and I thought I was in reasonably good shape. That was, until, we did Bunzen Lake at Lorelei’s pace. Keep in mind, she’s a runner, and in incredible shape… she also rides her bike to work several times a week, and that’s not a short distance! By the end of the 2 hours of the hike, I was totally out of breath from the hills, and more hills all through that park. Add a hot day to that, and you have quite the workout.

Later that night, I got changed and headed out to Lor’s place in White Rock, because our friend Channa was coming through town to surprise Lorelei on her way back to Salt Lake City. It was a great surprise, and Lorelei couldn’t believe we were able to keep the secret! It’s been so long since the three of us were together in the same room, and I really wanted to get out with them both, but Channa was exhausted (traveling all day with a young child from Hornby, and six and half months pregnant herself) and had to be up early in the morning to start driving back to Utah. It was good to catch up!

I had a date last night with a nice guy that I’ve emailed a few times. He actually looks very much like my step-brother, and sounds kind of like him too… that was eerie! I have a rule with first dates (not more than an hour or so, and leave some “getting to know you” for another date) and I broke it last night because he was fun to talk to, and the patio location was really relaxing… so it ended up being over two hours. I finally said I had to go, because I legitimately had work to do last night. He seems like a really nice guy though, so we’ll probably get together again soon.

I’m out to finally go dancing with Deetria, tonight! We’ve been trying to get out dancing for so long, so tonight will be nice… looks like Vern’s going to join us to let off a little steam as well. Good times!

Lorelei’s birthday party is on Sunday — BBQ’s at her place are always fun, and I’m looking forward to it. I am thinking of actually getting creative in the kitchen if I can find the time on Sunday, and make something yummy that everyone will enjoy. I haven’t done that in a while!

Buntzen is so beautiful… I love spending time out there… although I’ll admit it’s been a while. Good luck with the on-line dating thing… I tried it for a while and I met some great guys, but no-one really for me. Such is life :)

    Hi Sandy!

It’s been fun so far… colour me surprised that there are so many eligible men out there that are doing something with their lives. I feel a very busy week of dating coming on this week — should be fun, but I always find the whole “getting to know you” process a little tedious. (I guess it’s fun if it’s with the right guy…)

Hope you had a great weekend!

    Cheers,
    Tanya
