Counting the days!
Okay, so, who’s all skiing at Cypress this year? Anyone got passes?
I do, I do! I’m going up there Wednesday nights — I’ve got a One-Niter this year. I can’t believe I haven’t been downhill skiing in 6 years. That is so crazy! Thankfully, my back is finally at a point where I know I can ski and not be afraid of making it worse. I’ve certainly come a long way since that stupid car wreck in January of 1997.
Last year, when I was Cross Country skiing, I realized that if I could do those hills on Cross Country skis, (and there are definately HILLS at Cypress for those supposedly Cross Country areas, especially when you turn in the wrong direction, and get stuck in the black diamond section) then I can definately re-learn my downhill form. I’m so looking forward to feeling the snow hit my face while I breath in that fresh air at high rates of speed.
YES!
Winter is almost here — I’m counting the days until I see some serious snow accumulate on those local mountains! Wheeeee!

Ahh yes, the Cypress one-night-a-week pass which led me to my most expensive night of skiing ever since I used the pass precisely once the entire season (this was a couple of years ago). Oof!
Now, I just bite the bullet and buy a Gold Express from Whistler. I can’t possibly express how pumped I am about this upcoming ski season!!
You’ll have to come up to the company chalet at Big White one weekend this year.
Colin, welcome! — I know what you mean by expensive passes when you don’t use them enough — Mine was bad enough for X-country last year when I had to have surgery in January which cut my ski season short. This year, I’m going all out!!!
