Belated Merry Ho Ho, Everyone!
Wow…! I got spoiled for Christmas.
I wasn’t expecting it, but then again, I never expect gifts. I am one of those people that get a little ansy about receiving presents, except for at this time of year. I absolutely LOVE giving gifts — Watching someone open up something that I know they have wanted, or something that is completely out in left field, but I know they’d enjoy — There’s nothing better really!
Oh, hey… Before I forget! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
I spent Christmas morning at Melodie’s home, down near UBC. I was half expecting the morning to be a bit awkward, not because of the company, but because I was spending the morning with Vern, Vern’s sister Melodie, and Vern’s parents. Obviously, with Vern being my ex, and the last time we spent Christmas morning together with his parents it was under far different circumstances, I figured it might be a bit weird. It wasn’t! I had a fantastic morning, felt completely welcomed, and actually didn’t want to leave at 3pm to go to my Dad’s for dinner.
Now, Dad… Don’t take that the wrong way! I had a fantastic evening giving you a bit of a hard time (with a smile on my face of course!) and enjoying the Christmas feast that Sharon (my Dad’s wife) had prepared. My brother and Diane were there too… It’s been a while since I actually spent Christmas evening with my Dad. It was a nice change.
Christmas eve, on the other hand, was spent barfing. Yes… I had that stupid flu. I woke up feeling fine, but by the afternoon I couldn’t keep anything down. I was extremely frustrated because I couldn’t share a meal with my brother, as I had originally planned. I did manage to drag myself over there by 9pm that night so I could at least see my neice for an hour to watch her open a couple of gifts that I was really excited about for her. I’m glad I was able to make it over… My mother was there that night, and it was nice to be able to share a part of Christmas with her as well.
Well, I’d better get going — I’m off to see what the Boxing Day sales are like this year.
Cheers all!
