Catching up with friends — Always a good Friday night passtime!

After an extremely hectic day at work, it was really nice to finally cut out and meet up with Ed for dinner at Milestones — Even though, at the beginning of the meal, he was a little short on conversation. Upon asking him later in the evening what was up, he said the quitting smoking for New Years had something to do with it. Funny, though, he did buy a pack when we went to pick up some sparkling wine from the cold beer and wine store down the road from my place.

When I asked him what the pack was for (Hell, I’m not his keeper, he can certainly do as he wishes) he said, “Well, I’ve been drinking, I need smokes.” Okay… I’ll give him that. Not being a smoker myself, I don’t truly get it, but at least I somewhat understand where he’s coming from, due to my parent’s smoking habits when I was young. (Thankfully, both of them quit!)

Later on in the evening, Tammy, then Deetria showed up, and we all sat and talked and caught up. About an hour later, Vern got home from his date and joined in the conversation. Pretty funny, all in all. It was mostly relating to singlehood, movies, and stupid situations we’ve all been in recently at one time or another. It was good to have a Friday night “catch-up” so to speak. It’s been a while since we’ve done that.

Because I slept in until 9am this morning, I have to work for a while tomorrow. I just have too much going on right now to leave it until Monday… And besides, I really want to paint one wall of my office which is annoying the heck out of me. I know that this is probably bad timing, as I’ll be going right from the office to the Engagement Party, but my surroundings are incredibly important to me and if I’m going to be in that office for many, many hours of the week, I should probably make it more inviting, hey? I also have some stuff that absolutely requires resolution by Monday, so it’s probably a very good thing that I’m doing the “office adventure” tomorrow anyhow.

I can’t really believe it’s 2:15am! Why am I still up?? Michael just messaged me on MSN, and hell, he’s 2 hours ahead, so I guess I’m wondering what the heck he’s still doing up at 4:15am?? I thought I was the insomniac?

I’d better get to bed. Really. It’s going to be a long day tomorrow, and I need some beauty rest. Goodnight all!
