Better late…

As usual, I’ve had a busy few days, and this week doesn’t show any signs of letting up. Phew… I love being busy — Heck, it keeps me out of most trouble (Not all, but what fun would that be, right?) and I like to know I have things coming up to look forward to. In fact, I thrive on that.

Friday was such a fun night! Jeremy and I met up with my brother, his girlfriend and Deetria down at the New West Quay for some food and martinis… I knew my brother and Jeremy would hit it off right away, as they both have a strange sense of humour (I mean that in the best way possible!) and indeed, that is the way it went. Deetria, on the other hand, has surprised me in the past with her idea of who works for me and who doesn’t, so I was a little more worried about her first meeting Jeremy. Thankfully, she really liked him, and we all had some great laughs. I think the only part of the evening that I wasn’t too sure about was Jeremy kissing me in front of Deetria, because I didn’t want her to feel like a fifth wheel at all — But that fear was quickly allieved when Jeremy leaned over to give me a quick kiss before leaving the table to use the men’s room, and all three of them held up their menus like score cards and yelled out “5.4″, “5.8″, and “6.0″ — I think Dee gave us the highest mark… Too funny… But it didn’t end there — Jeremy decided those marks were lousy so he grabbed me and almost took out my tonsils in a deep kiss! “Okay”, I’m thinking to myself, “Maybe we should grab a room?” LOL! I was a little embarrassed, but the marks did improve.

After the Paddlewheeler, Diane and Todd really wanted to visit the casino, so the five of us went over to play a quick few hands of blackjack, (or in Diane and Todd’s case, Roulette). My lucky streak hit me again, and in half an hour of playing blackjack, and only a $40 initial buy-in, I was able to cash in about $200. Jeremy helped me with playing another hand at the table, and we both had a good time. Not one to stay and lose my money back to the house, I quickly removed myself from the table, and Jeremy cashed in the chips while I grabbed drinks at the bar to celebrate my quick win.

As the night was still early, we all went up to “Chicago Tonight”, to take in a few tunes and finish off the evening. Note to self… Unless spectacles are desired, DON’T go back to that place! There were some weird people in there, (mostly weird girls that looked like they’d just finished their “tramp-in-training” course) and although the atmosphere really left a lot to be desired we still had a good time until finishing off the evening at about 12:30. Thanks guys, I really did have fun!

Saturday afternoon, Jeremy came down with a very bad flu (much like mine on Christmas eve) and wasn’t able to join me to celebrate Zoe’s belated birthday party… So I ended up going out to Jupiter Room to join the gang for the early part of the evening, but decided to go back to Jeremy’s place to see if there was anything else I could do to help make him feel better. Unfortunately, there wasn’t… I felt so bad for the guy.

Sunday, I finally got my Mom online again — Albeit dial-up, at least she’s connected again. Welcome back to the “online world” Mom! I’m going to set her up on Match.com and get her out dating again. She’s really missing out on meeting some cool new people living way out there in Maple Ridge. I know she’ll have a bunch of laughs if she can just get out there and start somewhere!

Last night, Jeremy and I were supposed to be off to meet up with his friends Jenn and Michel, but unfortunately, Michel was sick too and they had to cancel. As I hadn’t seen much of Jeremy, I invited him to come out my way and grab a quick dinner and watch some movies at my place… He accepted, and we had a fun night at “Anducci’s” and then watching (crap, …I can’t remember what the movie was called now… “someone” and Emma) It was a fun film — Lighthearted, and required no brain cells, so I enjoyed it. Jeremy stayed over to avoid the drive back to Gastown, and we ended up staying up talking until 2am.

This morning, unfortunately, Jeremy’s car wouldn’t start. How frustrating for him! I ended up dropping him off at his place, where he’ll call BCAA and get his car towed up the road to my mechanic’s shop… Yes, my mechanic knows me well. I’m sure he’ll give Jeremy a decent deal to diagnose and repair the problem.

And now, finally, my work day begins…

    Alex and Emma…

Y’know, I hated lifting my car’s hood, and finding engine pieces missing… Oh well, c’est la vie

Ahhh right… Thanks for clarifying the title, J!

Oh, ya — I forgot the part about the engine pieces missing as to why your car wouldn’t start. Err — Ooops. :(
