It’s all fun and games until someone loses a peg!

Yesterday was a day of extremes! Jeremy, Jenn and I started off the afternoon at the “Everything About Sex Show” at the trade and convention centre — And I certainly had my eyes opened some! It was a fun experience wading through hourdes of people all there to gawk at the same things I was… What was particularily bizarre was the “Dungeon” area, where this woman had clothes pegs on her breasts (she was fully clothed), and this other woman (The “Dom” I guess) was taking this long flogger and whipping the clothes pins off. I found myself wondering if the woman who was getting whipped considered the fact that the tails of the flogger were coming pretty close to her face during this little show… And what if the woman doing the whipping mis-calculated and they did hit her face. That would definitely cause pain, and perhaps damage, wouldn’t it? I guess that’s part of the “fear factor”?

What I did drool over at the show were some extremely beautiful corsets that a couple of the booths had on display. I just couldn’t possibly justify $300 for something I would only wear on a rare occasion… But they were certainly beautiful pieces of art.

After taking in the show, Jenn, Jeremy and I walked over to Steamworks to enjoy a late lunch and a couple of beer. It was fun participating in the banter that we all had going on… I extremely enjoyed my time there. As Jenn really hadn’t had any time to talk to Jeremy and get to know him better, this was a good time to talk about anything and everything, and I even learned a bit more about Jeremy during our lunch.

And then, we dropped my Jenn off at Zigz to meet up with other friends, and we picked up Jeremy’s friends Jenn and Michel, and went on to take in the other extreme of our day — The UBC Chamber Orchestra — The UBC School of Music was putting on a performance at the Chan Centre. All four of us enjoyed the show, and I especially enjoyed the flute soloist that made an appearance in the second arrangement. Afterwards, we all enjoyed some coffee and dessert at “Cheesecake Ect.” on Granville, which was a perfect place to end off the night.
