Bring back my weekend!

Well, I had a great Valentine’s Day from start to end, I must say. The whole weekend was thoroughly enjoyable, actually. Despite the fact that I had work that I really could have gotten to this past weekend, I chose to take the weekend off, and accept the consequences to the Monday madness without a “weekend intervention”. I’m glad, as my Monday has been pretty reasonable so far, all in all.

Sin City was really neat. It was also incredibly busy! I don’t know why I thought that Valentine’s Day would cause this event to be slower (perhaps because most of my friends had chosen to do other things) but that certainly wasn’t the case at all. I am guessing there was probably a line-up outside the club by 10:30pm, as there certainly was a packed house inside by that time. After perusing the pictures online, I had expected the experience to be more about nudity and less about actual fetish clothing, but that too was a mistaken impression. There were some really funky outfits, and not a whole lot of nudity (unless you count the subtle nudity that some outfits offered) from what I saw. Jeremy and I stayed close to three hours and ran into a few people we both knew… I’m glad I went to the first event with just Jeremy, but am looking foward to sharing that experience with a bigger group of friends the next time around. Much fun! It’s good to break out of the usual club experience and try something new every now and then.

The restaurant that Jeremy chose for earlier that night was spectacular, too! Umberto al Porto was busy, but not overwhelmingly so, which was nice. We shared a bottle of nice Italian wine, and while I ordered the chateaubriand, Jeremy chose the lamb. The end of the incredible meal was topped off with brandy for Jeremy and a glass of port for myself. Um… Yum! Excellent Valentine’s choice, J — I had such a great time!!

Jeremy decided he wanted some new clothes yesterday, so we spent the afternoon combing the mall for some trendy, versatile outfits for him. To be honest, I was a little concerned about the shopping experience at the beginning, because it was very obvious that we had different tastes and thoughts about what clothes would be classified as trendy yet functional. The shopping adventure was pretty fun, though, once Jeremy realized early on that I wasn’t going to be pushing uncomfortable clothes on him that weren’t going to stay in style for a while. He ended up with many articles of clothing that looked excellent on him for a very good price. I was impressed that we, as a couple, could go shopping for hours without any problem, after the initial guard was let down. I know that this type of experience can be somewhat troublesome for some couples…

I really would like to go home now (I’m still at the office), but I’ve still got a load of work to complete before I do, so I’d better get it done. Tomorrow is going to be another busy day.

Sin City is once a month, Diane! You guys should come along sometime, I think you’d have a blast. They play music like Depeche Mode and the like, and the scenery is pretty incredible!

Yes, we’ll definitely have to go back to Kam’s! Jeremy and I thoroughly enjoyed dinner there with you guys, Todd, and Sherri. (Oh man, I hope I spelt their names right).

Jeremy… Yes, I agree the company was better ;)
