I don’t have SARS!

Isn’t that a relief?

I do however, have a respiratory infection. I declined the antibiotics for now, as I’m really against using them unless I absolutely must take them… But, if this cough doesn’t clear up soon, I’ll capitulate. Thankfully, besides my cough, I’m actually feeling close to my rambunctious self again these days. It’s nice to be able to wake up in the morning and not feel like I’ve been weighted down by 500 lbs of lethargy. Hmmm… That metaphor didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but you get my point.

The Clubzone event that I went to last week, although fun, was more of a meat market than an opportunity to meet anyone and network. That said, I should have considered the venue and the event before concluding that it would indeed be a good place to meet some neat, like-minded individuals. Oh well. I did get to meet Mike, and we both agreed that we’d met somewhere before, which was funny. Vern and I will have to get together with him soon and brainstorm on some ideas.

Friday night was fun — A bunch of us went to see DJ Taylor at Sonar, and I managed not to cough too much that night. My brother even made it out, which was great — I rarely get out with my brother to a club like that. I just wish I was feeling better so that I could have had more energy for some fun. It was still a good night, though.

Thankfully, Jeremy and I elected to have a quiet evening of movies and greek junk food, rather than head out anywhere on Saturday night. I needed to relax, and not think about work or exerting myself, so that was fun, and rejuvenating. We ended up watching a documentary that Jenn lent me a while back (Sorry, Jenn, I knew we were going to watch it together, but we didn’t have anything else to stick in for a video, but we’ll definitely watch it again with you), and then watched “Secretary” (we’d both seen it before), and finally, went out and rented “Intolerable Cruelty” (err, not my favourite movie, but it was entertainment, anyhow).

I’m still a little inundated with projects, but I finally feel like I’ve got them under control, (barely!) with the little bit of extra work after hours that I’ve managed to fit in whilst under the weather.

I’m looking forward to catching up with Col (Yay! It’s about time we met in person!!) likely tonight after her class. I think we’ve finally nailed down a night that works out for both of our schedules. Man, that girl is as busy as I am!

Tomorrow night I’m heading out with Jeremy (smooch… :D ) to visit his Grandparents and then hang out with him afterwards for the evening to finish planning our trip to England (which is in exactly 27 days and 5 hours!). I STILL CAN’T WAIT!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I’m even sneaking in a quick visit with a client just after we arrive in London at the end of March. And, no, I’m not bringing my laptop. I am going to bring my IPAQ though… Heck, I need something to type my blog into, right?

    Hey net chick!

Sorry to hear you’ve been sick and I do hope you recuperate soon!
Give your body a rest, man you’re busy, even when sick!

I usually check techvibes, and was aware of the clubzone thing, and early on decided it was not a real networking event, but more of a meat market variety…

    1 quick question:
what is SOnar like? I want to go out dancing with my boyfriend, but since the demise of Luvaffair (insert many tears), I can’t seem to find any club worth going to. We both LOVE alternative music, although, what the heck, I capitulate to salsa music every once in a while. In fact have been considering it, but if there’s a club that plays anything resembling alternative music, I’ll go there 1st!

Hey Jenn! I really enjoyed the movie — It was extremely informative, and I actually wish now that I had watched it sooner. Can’t wait to watch it with you, still though!

Col — Since I’m now your imaginary friend, perhaps you could get the rest of your imaginary friends together, and we’ll all hit a coffee shop early next week?

Dixie! Sonar is super on Friday nights, when they have a decent DJ there — As long as you like house and trance. If you are looking for a replacement to Tuesday nights at Luvafair, that’s now at the Plaza on Thursday nights (Brit night). I can’t stand Lotus, but they do have decent music there on Friday & Saturday nights as well… And, if you like more industrial music, and don’t mind fetish, Sin City is a great venue for that every second Saturday of the month.

  • NetChick says:

    Err… Vern, that’s VEGETABLES.

    heheh!
