TGIF!!!
This family doctor shortage in the Lower Mainland is a *real* pain in the ass. So much for quality social healthcare in this province, I say. I’m quite frustrated with the situation, as you can probably tell… This morning, I waited for almost an hour and a half in my walk-in-doctor’s waiting room to see a doctor again, all the while cursing myself for not taking the first doctor’s recommendation of antibiotics earlier this week. The doctor that I finally saw today couldn’t believe I’d let this situation go on for over a month before demanding medication. Sigh. I can’t help it if I don’t like antibiotics! That said, though, I won’t take another night like last night, and so I happily filled the prescription today, along with some Tylenol 3s as a cough suppressant. Who knew that T3s were an effective cough suppressant?? I had no idea.
Apparently, because I let this infection go so long, not only do I now have a sinus and respiratory infection, I might also have bronchial pneumonia. Great! Oh well. At least I’m taking a pro-active approach to getting better… And I’m really looking forward to not coughing after the first 48 hours of the antibiotics. (So the doctor promised, anyhow)
Bet you are tired of hearing about my illness? I’ll spare you further details… ((grin))
I went in to pick up my mail today, and finally saw Pearl. Like my father, she and Graham keep up with my life via this blog. (You guys are such LURKERS!! Comment once in a while so I know you were here! haha) I had to chuckle when she had all sorts of questions about Jeremy, when I hadn’t even had the chance to tell her about him yet. My goodness, Pearl, has it been that long since our last coffee get-together?? These lengthy delays between visits have gotta stop! Before I left with all my boxes and mail in tow, I told her that she and Graham should catch up with us all tonight at Milestones for some Mohitos and dinner… I hope they make it!
Speaking of which, this Friday night Milestones adventure is starting to become a weekly habit (errr… addiction?). This week, Vern, Deetria, Jeremy, Ed, Lisa, Rob and myself are meeting up. It’d be great if Pearl and Graham come along too! I can’t believe that Jeremy still hasn’t met probably half my friends — Including Lisa, Rob, Pearl and Graham. Note to self: I gotta get on that.
I just left a message at my Dad’s place to see if we’re all getting together for dinner tomorrow night. Yup… It’s time for Jeremy to meet the parents! Oooohhhh… I’m sure my Dad will like him. It’s actually a weekend of meet-the-fam-damily, as I am continuing on the theme by introducing Jeremy to my Mom on Sunday (hopefully) as my Aunt and Uncle are in from Nanaimo, and staying with her. I’m thinking brunch on that day is in order.
Ack. This cough is getting REALLY annoying. I’m going to log off and get the rest of my work done (Done? Ha. Okay, completed enough so I don’t worry about it all night) before I head out for the evening.
Yes. I’m covering my mouth.

– I finally put a pic of Jeremy on my “Mugs of Friends”. Sorry sweetie! I can’t believe I haven’t done that much sooner!! Thank you, Pearl, for getting on me about that.
Hi, I’m here and living vicariously through you *lurk lurk lurk*
[[grin]] You slay me, MJ! hahaha…
I guess it’s the pot calling the kettle black, as I have a tendancy to lurk on your site as well. That said, I do comment there on occasion
Rodan has nothing on Jeremy! I think we should title that mugshot “the Intense (I will destroy you with my power of thought) Thinker”. Its just a suggestion, but, if someone else comes up with a better title, I could get behind it. (Shhh Ed)
A) It’s Rodin. Not Rodan. Rodan is a movie monster (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodan ). Rodin was the artist. B) Be careful about referring to Ed being behind you, for any reason. You’ll get him excited. C) For what it’s worth, I like the title. [Insert brain-wave controlled attempt to take over the world HERE]
Hey Net Chick!
Rest up!
Hopw you get better soon
I’m thinking of an Aesop fable right now.
Hey, thanks Dixie! I’m feeling SO much better now!
Hope all is terrific in your world!
