A weekend of restaurants
Friday night was a blast — Everyone was really good about not giving me too much grief about coughing my lungs out at dinner. As it was the first day of antibiotics, I was still feeling under the weather, and certainly didn’t have my coughing under control, but I’m glad I got out anyhow. Lisa, Rob, (and their baby Samantha) Deetria, Vern, Ed, Jeremy and I met up at the Brentwood Milestones for some socializing and mohitos. Afterwards, Jeremy and Ed came back to my place to geek out on all three of our Dell laptops… Too funny. We ended off the evening playing “You Don’t Know Jack” and of course, as I didn’t watch much TV growing up, I got my ass severely kicked by Jeremy and Ed who almost tied each other. (Okay, Jeremy won, but Ed was close behind him — [hehe... She said "close behind him" -- See last day's comments for why I'm giggling]

As a sidenote… What does everyone think of photos in my blog! I’m finally trying to get out of my laziness, and let my camera do the talking for a change.
Saturday, after a sleepless Friday night (that’s not quite true, I did get an hour’s worth of sleep) Vern, Jeremy and I got up early and dropped off Jeremy by 9am at his place so that he could go rowing, while Vern and I headed into the office to get some more work done that was left over from last week. I lasted until 2pm or so, when, half asleep, I headed over to Jeremy’s to grab a nap. Holy did I need that time-out! When I woke up at 4:30 I felt more like myself than I had in a month. Finally, the medication was starting to take hold and kill that ugly, nasty bacteria that was causing me so much grief. What a relief! While Jeremy and I went up to rent a movie, we got a call from Tammy suggesting we pop in on the way back to Jeremy’s and grab some food at this cool little place off of Main and 3rd. I hadn’t seen Tammy and Bruce for a few weeks, and it was really nice to see Alison and Ralph after months and months without catching up with those two. Near the end of the evening, the guy that owns the little place told me that I looked similar to Bernadette Peters when I smiled. As I had no idea what she looked like when he mentioned that, I wasn’t sure if it was a compliment or not. He assured me it was… After looking up what she looks like, I’m not sure I agree. Silliness. As much as I used to hate the comparison, I still think I look like the younger Tina Yothers, than any other actress.
Today, Jeremy and I met up with my Mom, my aunt May and her husband John (who are visiting from Nanaimo), as well as Todd, Diane and Ashleigh for brunch at the Pantry. I doubt a crappier location could have been chosen for brunch, and it turned out to be a complete gong show, as we ended up getting split up into two separate back to back booths after waiting 45 minutes to be seated. Consequently, I didn’t really get the visit in with my Mom that I was hoping, as she was at the other table with my brother and Diane. Oh well. Later this evening, after getting a little more work done, Vern invited me out to have a “goodbye for a month” dinner for Miru as she is heading to Isreal on Tuesday… It was fun to finally meet Miru, and we all had some laughs at the Naam restaurant. Vern and I realized after we got there, that perhaps our leather jackets weren’t the best clothing choice for that place. Oh well! What’s wrong with shaking things up a little, right? Isn’t that what I’m the best at?

And now, it’s 2am, and I can’t sleep… Again. I think I’m going to have to figure out why I am dealing with so much insomnia these days. It’s really driving me crazy.
UPDATE: Grrrr. It’s now 4:30 am, and I’m still not asleep. Note to self: Do not get so pissed off before going to bed. This sucks ass. I have a ton of work to do tomorrow — I’m heading into the office with Vern, which means I have to be up at 7:30. *3* hours left. Nice. I feel like kicking something right now.

Actually, Ed beat me by 250 points… but fear not! I vow revenge! I shall prevail! Maybe we should tag team, to make sure Ed finishes last next time…
Pfft. Hopefully on the next Jack session (man that sounds bad), I’ll have some WORTHY opponents.
Not worthy, were we? So THAT’s why you just barely squeaked out a win…. cuz we’re not worthy……
It’s all so clear now. Thank you for enlightening me, Sire.
Yer gonna get it, Ed. I should beat you again at Scrabble…
ps: Eddy — When’s a good time to get together with you to pick up that battery pack you made me? …Thanks again, yer too sweet!
A Win is a Win Jer. =) Just remember, second place is the first loser.
Oooh. Ed. [place eye roll here]
