I feel inspired!

I had the opportunity to go and view a conference (A ‘Speaker’s Showcase’, to be more precise) this morning that one of my clients had put on to highlight some of the area’s talent… And I wasn’t dissapointed! Not only did I get to see my friend Tod Maffin speak for the first time (which was a real treat and very entertaining) I also got to watch 5 other very motivational and entertaining speakers as well.

I’ve come away with this. I *need* to hire a business/life coach! Seriously… One of the speakers there was actually a life coach and motivational speaker, and he nailed down some of the reasons why I’m not seeing my full potential with my careers at the moment. I have decided to obtain the tools that I need to get over some of my procrastination (yes, we all have it) and move ahead with the more difficult things life has to offer.

So… I’m going to do it. I’ve looked into this in the past, and they aren’t terribly expensive for the value that they can bring to someone that wants to listen and implement their advice. Procrastination will be a thing of the past! …Just as soon as I stop procrastinating about making *the* appointment. [grin]

For those in Vancouver… Aren’t we awfully lucky to be having this incredible weather?? Holy, it’s been remarkable outside lately, and I hear this weekend is going to be even better. It was already 23*C when I was driving into the office at 12:30! I can’t wait to get out on my blades this evening… Who’s in?

How much money do these life coaches make or is that all they do? Its like why do we talk to a broker about our money?? hehe

Hey Sue! You know, I will probably take you up on that! Thanks for the offer — Let’s grab a java soon and see if we can work something out?

Todd… It’s about hiring experts in their field. I can’t be an expert at everything, and am quite happy to admit that. And, about hiring a broker? — You can’t trade directly on the markets without a license — We all need experts in some capacity.

Are life coaches out of work CEOs?

  • NetChick says:

Ritchie… Hope my info helped! Keep me posted — I’d be interested in your experience as well!

Vern — You just don’t want to go and see one to fix your little issues, do ya? hahaha….

Life Coach? Wtf? Not to sound unenthused, but my skepticism alarm is peaking at 130 dB. Lamaze coach I can understand… LOL!

I would almost want to look into the life of a life coach before starting. For example, if they were born with money, and went through University with 4 degrees…. Hmmm. If they started with nothing, and created a great life by using their own wits and managed to keep going with out the use of heavy drugs (or some messed up religious stuff)… then….maybe. I feel that there is some “dazzling with bs” going on in this particular consulting practice.

((damn.. that was nearly coherant… not bad considering how Im feeling this morning))

play hooky and come hang out with me today!

I’ll be your life coach for half of the cost of the cheapest life coach you can find, and I’ll take you out to dinner with the money you pay me, to boot. (I won’t hit on you either, cuz I’m happily married).

I am the *biggest* cynic when it comes to “coaches,” mostly because the ones I have met are TOTALLY UNQUALIFIED to be giving the advice that they give. If you want someone to help you clarify your objectives, set goals and keep you accountable to them, I will do that, just in protest of the whole “coaching” phenomenon.

I’m not going to say I’m a professional coach, but I’ve started up a business & sold it at the age of 22/23, and now I’ve started a second one that’s exceeding my wildest revenue projections after 6 months. I know business, I know careers (I wrote a textbook about career searches for youth).

Save yourself a whole lot of money, and email me. Seriously.
