A fun date!
I had an entertaining date last night! My date was an attractive German guy who’s the same age as me. He’s only been in Canada for about three years, and had a strong accent to match, although his English was excellent. He was a nice guy, as I suspected he would be…
It was funny at the start of the date, because I had pulled in a few minutes early, and was precariously balancing my purse on my bent knee trying to fish out change for the meter, when from behind me I heard change jingling. I didn’t think anything of it, until a few moments later, when I heard it again. I turned around and there he was, watching me fish for change. He obviously knew who I was, and kind of chuckled as he offered up a loonie — Just as I found one in my purse. Kind of a funny, but nice start to a few hours of “getting to know you”. He’s very talkative and expressive, and had lots of stories to share about his experiences in Germany, as well as his reasons for coming to Canada. It’s nice not being the one that has to initiate conversation…
You know, I have to say, Europeans (I hate to lump them all together, but this has been my experience with all Europeans I’ve met so far) certainly have a way about dating — I kind of like it. They’re very up-front, approachable types. They keep eye contact without making you feel uncomfortable, and somehow have a different mindset to meeting women. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s certainly more than subtly different than the Canadians I’ve met. I’m not saying it’s any better or worse… I like both styles, but it’s nice to have change.

hmm…I didn’t know that we where differnt in meeting woman.
Maybe we Europeans can take advantage of that difference….. Thanks for the tip
I would have to aggree with you on the European dating point. I always found them to be no nonsense and straight forward. So refreshing.
OK..go to the port section of your local bottle shop. Its ‘Chalmers Chocolate Port’. A mix of Aussie tawny ports with chocolate overtones.
ok that was very very vague so to the point here… are you seeing him again? Were did you go? What did you do? Are you attracted to him? come on more info girl….. us married people need to live through you now hehheheh….
I have forbidden her to see him again! NOOO!! No more Europeans for NetChick as long as I am here to protect her from the likes of Germans, Swedish and especially British!! We will not be speaking of this… ANY MORE!! Zzzzzppt… ZZZZZZ.. ZZZPpptpt (and I have a whole bag more of ZzzzPPt)
What about the Dutch, Vern? Everybody hates the Dutch.
FORBIDDEN???!?
Have you forgotten who you are dealing with? Errr… Ya. Think again. [[sticking tounge out at you, and not in a good way]]
And, well, I kinda like the Swedish and the British. So there.
Oh, and Lovewine… Thanks for the tip!! I’ll look for that — I’m sure I’ll LOVE it!
Hummmm, I think the same can be said for men too: regarding European women that I’ve ment. I have made the claim in the past that Western men and women are naturaly attracted to our European counterparts, mainly becuase of the difrences in idologies. Some say difrently, others say it is wrong alltogether, however, I see nothing wrong with mixing cultures as long as the “bonding agent” is love…
[tear-drop] That is why I like living in Vancouver so much, you don’t need to go to Europe to live it, you just need to out side….
Change is good. I hope you can put “your finger on it” –then Blog it, becuase I would like to know your version of “what is difrent” between Canadians and Europeans. It could be a best seller! he he he.
