Finally, a moment to download photos!
Wow, I am currently enjoying a real, honest to goodness, lunch break for a change. Granted, it’s at 3pm, but at least I have a lunch break today.
I took a moment to finally download some photos from the Learn To Row Regatta last weekend, and thought I’d share two with everyone. Now, I have to say, these aren’t the most flattering photos, but oh well… What I do know is that I never want to see myself in those gray workout pants again. Yick!

The crew shot (me in 4 seat, Vern in 5 seat, and Corree in 6 seat), just as we came in second in the race.

Me, just after the second race ended — I’m trying to listen to the cox at the time.
We had a great day, and I’m looking forward to the next regatta, which will be even better sculling in a coxless quad!

hehe… you said “cox”
(i know i know, coxswain)
[grin] I know… I like saying it.
Apparently, so do you! [/grin]
that’s so sad you have to be coxless as you advance – you would think there would be more cox rather than less cox
I don’t know… I prefer coxless. Um, are we talking about the same thing?
Would that be coxx0rZ in l33t sp3@k?
K, now I’m really confused……….
Ok… l33t sp3@k is best described as a hacker wannabee text-slang. Means “Elite Speak”. For example:
h@xx0rZ = Hacker
$uxX0rZ = Sucks
teh ghey = The Gay (lame)
menz = Gay
w00t = Woo-hoo. Acceptable.
pwnt = Owned
Owned = Defeated, one upped
pwnx0rZ = Seriously Owned
c00nt = The “c” word insult
pr0n = Porn. Pronounced “Prawn”
It can also be a combination of leet speak specific words and standard sentence structure, but replacing letters with numbers or characters. For example: g00d m0r/\/1/\/g j3r3myZ. In practical use, it’s a pain in the ass to type and is mostly used by warez ankies and teenagers trying too hard to pretend they’re hackers. Whereas real hackers use a lot of inside terminology, the lamers substitute leet speak, but are only fooling themselves.
l33t spe@k is also popular with FPS gamers since it takes less time to type w00t! GG! than it does to type All right! I kicked your ass! Good Game!
Herendethelessen. Old Danish Scholar.
Oh yeah… Dig those sweat pants, T! w00T!
do they nail your shoes to the footplate? is this like the olden Roman days where the rowers were chained to their benches?
There’s a thought! Give the Coxswain a whip, and christen the boat “Ben Hur”.
I always wanted to learn how to “Row Regatta”, Seen it on tv and thought it was cool. Anyway just searching blog sites so wanted to pop in and say hello
