Let the adventures begin!
Wow… I have had some awesome adventures so far in my new home! Last weekend was so much fun — Friday night Corree and I went to the Fish House in Stanley Park for an amazing (albeit slow serviced) meal, after which we came back to my place and had a quick beer before she left for home. I wasn’t ready for my night to be over, however, so I called up a new friend to come over and see the place. He lives right across the road, and decided to come over with 15 year old Scotch in hand — I wasn’t complaining.
On Saturday, I rowed with the girls, and had the best row of my life! The four of us gelled that day, and it felt superb out in a quad with them. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect afternoon, actually — During the whole day, there was simply nothing that could remove the smile from my face. That evening, what was supposed to be five chicks having dinner together, turned into about 40 people in and out of my new place as my roommates and I had people stop by to see our new abode. I love the location as I can now have my friends pop by and it isn’t any effort to do so… It certainly wasn’t that way in Burnaby! I had such a great night…
Sunday was a great day, too! I volunteered at the Learn To Row Regatta at the club, and ended up subbing into a level 2 quad — We won the race that we were in! Good times… That night, I caught up with Vern and H. from Texas, Tammy, Miru and her new guy, at the Naam. It was kind of interesting to look around the table (and try not to giggle) as I realized who was sitting there — Vern had dated all of us chicks. Interesting mix to invite out to meet H. who was in town to finally meet Vern after months of getting to know him from a distance. Then again, though, I believe it shows a strength of character to be able to remain such close friends with those that you’ve dated in the past (given that the relationship ends respectfully, of course). I for one was really happy to be there and finally meet her, as well as catch up with Vern and everyone else.
This afternoon I had a fun date with a guy — Kinda broke my rule about dating in the afternoon, as I really don’t like meeting people for coffee during my workday. Glad I did, though, because he was a really neat guy and we both enjoyed each other’s conversation. Normally, I find it VERY hard to switch gears, and go to “personal-mode-Tanya” versus “business-chick-with-focus” and back again. Thankfully, it was near the end of the day, so I called it quits when I went to the office and picked up Vern for our Ikea adventure this evening.
I’m finally connected at home, which is a relief. Although, I’m still having some issues with my wireless connection here — There’s a ton of interferance at this height, it seems. I’ll have to figure out what I can do about that, because going on and off line constantly is a real pain in the ass.

Did you have any problems with your wireless router prior to moving?
Which wireless router are you using? I had too many problems with the D-Link so I exchanged it for a Netgear which has been much better (although it occasionally reboots itself for no apparent reason). I didn’t even look at Linksys as their track record, IMHO, is pathetic.
I hate to ask this… but what does height have to do with wireless coverage? Is the modem on the ground floor?
I’ve got a linksys and can’t seem to get it to work with WEP security. Lots of good that does…
anyway, sounds like you’re lovin’ life! Good for you!!
mmmm. Ikea. Do they have a restaurant there? Ours does and they do these Swedish meatballs with loganberry sauce. Now look what you’ve done. I’m starving!!
The router is a linksys… And I’m convinced that the antennas right above us is causing my grief, because I’ve never had problems in the past.
Mmmmmm… I love the meatballs at Ikea and funny enough, that’s just what I had with Vern when I was there!
