What makes a good friend?
In my books… A good friend is someone that:
- is there when you are confused and afraid, and has just the right things to say to allieviate your fears
- can read your reactions and know what you are thinking
- calls/emails you when you haven’t been in contact
- stands behind you and is your best supporter
- helps you put the past behind you but understands when you need to hold on to it a little while longer
- gives you extra confidence when you need it the most
- listens to you when you need to talk about your daily frustrations
- knows what can put a smile on your face, even when you don’t feel like smiling
- loves you no matter what
I can only hope that I’m as good of a friend to the people that do so much for me.

A good friend will put up your bail to get you out of the drunk tank.
A best friend will be sitting beside you saying “That was a GREAT night!”
Cool! I got 5 out 9!!! (okay, maybe 4 if you dont include the listening one.)
Paul, you are so totally right… Jenn’s kinda like that for me! (Although, she didn’t hold back my hair in the New York subway when I puked. Hm… I should have added that to my list.)
Vern — 5?? I don’t count five. Where do you see five? Just kidding. You rock as a friend. Love ya, dude!
