Swallowing is overrated!
I awoke three days ago with a throat I could barely swallow with, and a body that felt like it had been hit by a big truck. I had no idea what I had, but it wasn’t good. I could barely get out of bed.
So, the last two days were spent sleeping. Quite literally. When I did actually get out of bed to go to the bathroom and try to swallow something that resembled food, my roommates were frightened. One of them is sick too, but he didn’t look scary like I did. Hell, I scared myself when I squinted into the mirror.
I got tired of being sick today, and went to the doctor. Enough is enough, afterall. Turns out, I’ve got strep throat, and possibly mono as well (blood test for the mono part doesn’t come back til Tuesday). Isn’t that lovely? My doctor freaked me out when she said that I might possibly need the abcess in my throat drained surgically, and sent me for x-rays to confirm. Um, how’s no for an answer to that idea?? I have to row this weekend!!! Thankfully, when I called for the results this afternoon, I was able to convince the other doctor to just let me start the antibiotics, and see how it goes… (He wanted me to go back for another x-ray view, and I was opposed to being irradiated some more).
And, row I shall do. I don’t give a crap that I feel shitty, I’m going. Nothing is going to stop me — This is my first weekend of regattas, and a road trip to boot, and I wouldn’t miss it for anything! Victoria, here I come!! I feel an awesome weekend of fun coming on! Yay for rowing!

At least Victoria is nice right now, but they are getting a lot of wind storms though?

Hey Tan, when you get better, and finish rowing this weekend (good luck) we should head out for those martinis you promised to share with me! I know, nothing serious. Just come out with me and the gang! It’s been too long baby! I miss you.
Falconing in much cooler. I think its the bloodsport which appealed to me the most.
