Smokey Joe’s Cafe…
…Was great! I had a good time, and Vern generously took me out to a nice dinner at Aria beforehand — I felt spoilt all the way around. What a great way to spend a Sunday night.
This was the fifth musical I’ve seen in my lifetime — I don’t understand why I haven’t made time to go to more… We certainly have a wealth of live entertainment here in Vancouver. I have seen an abundance of stand-up comedy as I really love to go and see Paul (Jenn’s fiance) when he’s performing, along with the other fantastic comedians he always seems to be paired with. (Okay, most of them are fantastic, and a few suck, but I take the good with the bad!)
I’m taking my Mom out finally for her birthday dinner this Friday night, and I wanted to do something with her after dinner, so perhaps I’ll check out what else is playing right now and grab a couple of tickets. I had to cancel going over to see her on her birthday due to my strep throat adventure, but next Friday seems like a great day to get her out and have some fun… And get a bit more culture as well.
I had a bit of a stressful afternoon today with some news from my Dad, but I won’t be talking about it here at this time. Suffice to say it’s been a bit of a tough week, but I’m holding on to the positive with every ounce of my being.
Don’t forget to tell your family you love them today. There’s no time like the present to appreciate what you have.
