Looking forward to my date tonight!

YAY! It’s Friday! Break out the balloons and party hats! Wheee!

Can you tell I had perhaps a half a beer too much at lunch today? It’s not my fault — Jenn’s a bad influence. To be quite honest, however, I am glad we did do our ‘It’s Friday So Let’s Be Free’ lunch today, because I needed it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m actually having a great day, but there were certain issues in my life that were really stressing me out. Mainly work-related, and I needed to vent, and a couple of beers always makes it easier to let it go.

And, let it go I did. Felt great — Thanks Jenn. By the time we were back from lunch, it was all better… I kissed and made up with the ‘powers that be’ and my worth was finally truly realized at the office. I have to say, this little grating issue needed to come to a head sooner or later, and I’m glad it was finally settled today. Today is indeed a good day!

And, I didn’t even need to bring out my axe.

On another, more positive note: I’m looking forward to having a fun-filled second date with someone this evening. He’s a really great guy, and makes me laugh, (bonus points) so we’re picking up where we left off last Thursday and going out for dinner and martinis tonight. I’m thinking if we have fun tonight, and he’s free, I’ll ask him to the Captain’s Dinner at the club next Saturday night. Heck, I’ve got a kick-ass dress (thanks to ‘the gal’s shopping night’ last week) so, to make it a perfect night, I just need a handsome date to take along. I’m feeling pretty good about it… We’ll see.

Last night was a gas — The gals and I headed out shoe shopping, as it turns out we all required shoes for next Saturday night — I didn’t end up finding what I was looking for, but took home a couple of pairs of sensible shoes anyhow. Kinda pulled a boneheaded move, though — When I got home last night, I realized I already owned one of the pairs I bought. I must have really liked them the first time I bought them too. *sigh* It’s not like I own more than 8 pairs of shoes, but somehow it didn’t occur to me that I had recently picked up the same pair on sale somewhere else. Silly me.
