Dating during the Christmas season is pure insanity…

I don’t know why I do it! I’ve got so much going on, and I’m really booked with social functions for the next month, and yet, somehow I expect that I’m going to have time to date as well.

I hate dissapointing people! Honestly, I really shouldn’t be dating at all until January, but I really don’t enjoy doing all the ‘Christmas social things’ by myself. But, without dating someone a few times beforehand, I can’t just bring along someone I don’t know to these things… I’ve made that mistake in the past. Bad move. Really. I think my brother has finally forgiven me for the few times I have done that with some of his functions… *sigh*

So, there you have it. My dilemma! I have people I’d like to date, but not much time to date. I guess I’m going to resign myself to the fact that I’m not going to have a date for all the events this season. I’ve gotta make a New Years resolution about this, and not be in this situation next year.

UPDATE: I’ve decided to take a total hiatus to dating as of December 1st, for at least a month. Unless of course, something very odd happens between now and then. I just don’t have time, and that’s not fair to someone who’s making an effort to get to know me better. Maybe when I get back into the swing of things dating adventure, I’ll take a completely different approach. Read into this at your own risk.

MJ’s just mean. :) I still like ya anyhow. Ps: You *can* have my problem… Easily! Ask me how… ehhehe

Tom — Still considering my options. Not sure which way I’ll go, either cold turkey or, I’ll scale back a lot. We’ll see come Dec. 1.

Nelly, thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that if the guys that I’m seeing right now turn out not to be available!

Jen, you make good points, and I agree. I’ll be going to several parties solo by choice, including my staff party which is actually just fine with me.

The movie “40 days and 40 nights” comes to mind… But seriously, the holiday season is stressful enough without worrying about some new guy. No reason to stop dating entirely – perhaps a good test is seeing who’s willing to deal with a reduced availability and still hang around until the new year… And remember – it’s fun to go stag to holiday parties! You never know who you’ll meet while you’re there….

    Off Topic…… a little?

WOW! I just realized that your WeBLOG just had it’s second anniversary! Way back on November 7, 2002. Two years Old. I guess that makes you an “Old timer” in terms of Internet years?

You should see what kind of stats you have for your website. Congratulations, may year 3 be even more exiting in This Chick’s Life. *he he he*

Ok, so um, your “dilemma” is you have way more people to date than you have time for? Many people (me! me!) *so* want your dilemma…

(plays the worlds smallest ukelelie for NetChick :) )

Christmas is busy enough as it is and adding a new man to it can be crazy but you know, when you least expect it thats when it happens…. hehehe

I dunno Netchick… lots going on but there is something about the Christmas season that makes it all about one big adventure. Yes, I really am just 6 years old.
But you should be able to enjoy the month of december with all the crazzzyness of christmas and a few dates on the side. You just have to be selective as to where you ‘share’ these dates. Christmas season is about meeting old friends, making new ones and having fun.
Damn… I’m going to go out and buy some egg-nog right now…

Hey, this could turn into a News Years Resolution too… *hint* Like smoking or kicking the coffee habit…. he he Lets see how far you can go—no dating for 31 days—-zip! Of course you must must be honest with your deliberations in each post.

……if you choose to accept this mission, this message will self destruct in 5 seconds. My secretary will dis-involve any information about you and the MIP team….. yadda, yadda, yadda… Good luck Net Chick!
