Taking the plunge, with my hair
I’ve finally decided to stop being such a chickenshit, and I’m changing my hairstyle… Really, I’m going to do it this time. It’s time to change, and I’m prepared with a box of Kleenex, so it’s all good. This is a really big step for me because my hair is my security blanket, and I have gotten some extremely shitty cuts in the past.
This time will be different, I can feel it already.
Wanna see my inspiration? (And I hope I don’t get completely sued for copyright infringement… I’m sure I’m not the only one on this earth to steal a photo from a magazine cover, so please don’t tell on me!)

So, I’m thinking just like this, colour and all (so much darker, I’m getting nervous already) except just a bit longer because I like to put my hair up when I’m rowing, and this looks a little short for that.

looks great! I think you definitely won’t have problems putting your hair up. My hair is considerably shorter than that picture and I can still pull mine back.
Darker is probably good. Stylist-types sometimes say that if you’re really fair, you may sort of “disappear” if your hair is also very light.
Good luck. Don’t forget to go to a good stylist. I recommend Rain Salon (near Granville Island), but there are plenty of others.

A) Don’t go to Rain. They’re evil. Well, my ex-best friend used to work there, and when we “split up” the stupid bitches at Rain actually listened to her when she told them I wasn’t allowed to be a customer anymore. I know I’m not the poster child for excellent loyalty to friends, but I’m just telling you that certain folks at Rain are my mortal enemies. Do what you will with that.
(If you do decide to go, Dani at the West 2nd location is an excellent stylist who I went to for five years until this whole thing happened. So you’ll be in good hands, even though they’re the hands of a two-faced bitch. Not that I’m really one to talk about that. Heh).
B) That haircut in the photo is still really long. I’m sure you’ll still be able to put your hair up while rowing. Or you could just get it cut like mine then you never have to worry about hair accessories again!
C) I think this colour will look FANTASTIC on you.
i think it’s a great idea. it’s odd that you’re mentioning this because i’ve decided to get my hair cut as well. made the appointment yesterday. i’ve had my hair the same since grade 8 so i’m pretty spooked. we’ll have to get together and compare cuts. good luck, you’ll look gorgeous any which way.
