Fun was had by all…

Thanks to everyone who came and warmed my house on Friday night! It was a fantastic turnout, and everyone seemed to have a good time. There were definitely some delightful and memorable moments in the evening, and some were captured by my camera. Yes, the photos will be up tomorrow when I get into the [...]

How can you tell it’s bunny-time?

In the spirit of Easter, we had a little Easter Egg hunt this morning in the office. Yes, you heard me right… Problem is, I am so stacked with work today that I had to do it while working. How sad is that? I’m writing a press release, while looking around my office for the [...]

Harumph!

The day just isn’t going to start well when, for the second time in a week, Artigianos gives me my cookie only to have me bite into it and realize it’s *NOT* chocolate chip & oatmeal like I asked for. RAISINS in cookies *must* be banned. C’mon, kids! Let’s start a movement!! At least I [...]

A real adventure!

…We’ll have to chalk this last weekend’s regatta to one of the most interesting on record. It was very odd, all the way around. It started when we all walked up to a local pizza place near the hotel just outside of Seattle. We waited to cross the road at the crosswalk when all of [...]

40 GB of iPod Goodness!

40 GB iPOD Goodness! Okay. This is definitely my last big purchase. Well, it was actually a real deal on eBay… A used iPOD, 40 GB, 3rd Generation model that is slightly scratched up. Normally, I don’t like buying used electronics, but this was such a great deal. I wouldn’t have purchased it for the [...]

Racing weekend is upon us!

I’m off to go and race in the rain in Seattle this weekend! We’re leaving right from work to try to avoid some of the spring break traffic at the border. The Green Lake regatta takes place on Saturday, and we’ve got to be up at the unGodly hour of 5am to be ready to [...]

Happy Birthday!!

It’s Jer’s birthday today!! I took him out to Hermitage, located on Robson, last night for dinner. It was a really wonderful evening, and I’m glad I chose that restaurant to surprise him with… It was perfect. He loved it. That said — We’re both getting old! We took a detour as we walked back [...]

Living together in modern times

On a more personal note today, I’ve been trying to figure out lately why it’s so important to me to live with someone before I ever get re-married again. It’s really something, in my eyes, that is a requirement before I walk down the aisle and spend the rest of my life with someone. But, [...]

Really, really bad joke — Because I really, really need to laugh today

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his cellphone and calls the emergency services. He gasps: “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator says: “Calm down, I can help. First, let’s [...]

Line-up peculiarities:

Oookay. That was weird. I was just standing in the Cafe Artigianos line-up to get my morning cookie, and the woman behind me kept looking expectantly around me with a smile on her face. The second time she did it, I thought well maybe she thinks she knows me so I did a quarter-turn, and [...]

Delayed Friday Silliness…

For all those that were missing my Friday Silliness, I bet you’re glad I waited until Monday afternoon to post this one! Unfortunately, this item is sold, however if you contact the buyer perhaps you can get a deal or even share the item. I’m suitably impressed with the documentation that was sold with said [...]

A beautiful Saturday afternoon…

The wind rushing through (what remains of) my hair, the sun shining down on me, and making the day glow, and a large, round peice of wood is loosly being grasped between my fingers. Get your mind out of the gutter — I was in a ‘four’ today, which is a sweep boat for those [...]

Not a rant, but certainly a whine.

Don’t you absolutely go nuts when you take time out of your day to call someone, and they make you feel like shit for not calling sooner? I hate using the phone… At least I hate calling people, because I always get their voicemail, and it never seems like anyone actually picks up the line [...]
