A beautiful Saturday afternoon…
The wind rushing through (what remains of) my hair, the sun shining down on me, and making the day glow, and a large, round peice of wood is loosly being grasped between my fingers. Get your mind out of the gutter — I was in a ‘four’ today, which is a sweep boat for those not in the know. Most the row consisted of the four of us girls getting a little annoyed by the fact that we were constantly veering to the port side of the course (likely my doing as I hadn’t been in a sweep boat since the regattas in October… Not to mention the fact that I was in bow which I’d really only done once before and never in a ‘four’), however near the end of our row we finally got it together and it felt so nice to glide into the dock all in time and all feeling good about the balance.
It was a wonderful afternoon on the water, all in all.
And then, Jer and I hopped on the Ninja and went bike shopping out in the burbs — Now that I’ve taken my BC Safety Course, you’d think I’d be more relaxed, but now all that runs through my head on the freeway is everything that could possibly go wrong. Now, I imagine myself flying off the bike as we hit an oil patch or a leak of diesel fuel. It’s certainly humbling, and will ultimately make me a safer rider once I get past this initial crazy fear of the unknown. Fact is, many of the accidents on the road with motorcycles involved happen at an intersection, not at higher speeds on the freeway.
Yes, Dad, I’ll be careful. And, now you can stop reading…
I’m off to Sin City tonight! I can’t wait to don my black wig, and my sexy PVC dress that opens to expose *all* of my back. Should be a fun, and interesting evening. It’s great that Jer lives right across the street from the club!
UPDATE: It’s the next morning, and sadly we never actually made it inside Sin City last night. I’m so dissapointed, but by the time we got outside to que up for the night, the line was all the way down the block. 9:30!! Who in Vancouver goes to a club at what must have been 9pm or earlier?? We were shocked, and dismayed. Maybe next month. *sigh*

Was that the Alvira costume you wear when not in the office or among your close associate? Yes, I remember the photo from a couple months ago. Truly the “other side” of T….
Yes, most of the good clubs and bars were packed to the rafters all over the city. I think it all has to do with the great weather we are having—great to go out, but not to great for a camping trip out of the city. I was in Burnaby last night for a while, and the weekend traffic was nuts…..
Remember…… Trolling
all that traffic…:(
But not SPAM traffic!
Were you in Richmond yesterday? Did you have your hair loose, under the helmet? I think we passed each other while I was doing my Traffic Skills course. Too funny. Ciao.
Well, yes… Tom… If you *must* call it that
Jer seemed to think I looked pretty good in it.
Funny enough, Jason, it wasn’t me! We were in Port Moody and Coquitlam — Speaking of which, I didn’t have the best sales experience at Carter Honda on Granville Island, either. I’m sure it was just the one guy, but I think I’m going to blog about it tomorrow. — How’s the BMW??? Happy Birthday on Wednesday!
pity about sin city. But that’s okay, come next month so I can finally meet you. At least, I think I’ll be going next month… people keep harassing me to go.
