Tragedy averted!
Our trip to Seattle this weekend was [this close] to being cancelled. Jeremy called me up this afternoon at 4:15 to let me know that there was a great likelyhood he would have to be on a plane to Austin tomorrow morning because of an emergency work issue.
That would have sucked… Because even though I’m not registered to race this weekend because I left it too late (my schedule was looking like I couldn’t accomodate a weekend away), I’m really hoping to be able to sub into one or more of our novice 8s on Saturday. The last I heard, the novice program was at least one body short of filling one of three novice women’s 8s. I would really like the regatta experience and one race is still a far better workout than no race.
Thankfully, Jer just heard that he’s off the hook, so we’re going! These days, it just wouldn’t be a regatta weekend without some sort of drama — I hope this is it for the weekend! The cool factor is: Because we’re heading down a bit early, Jeremy will spend a few hours working in Seattle and then our room is covered for tomorrow night. …And hell, I always have work to do, so it isn’t like I’ll be bored while he’s busy.
