For those of you following my carpet stain saga:
OXYCLEAN is my new best friend!!
That massive (3 foot square) stain in the middle of my living room is all but a distant memory, now! With one quick application, and five minutes of waiting, the stain dissapeared before my eyes. I will say, however, that if I buy a place with white carpeting, it *will* get ripped out and replaced with a colour that will hide the daily lint and traffic (even without shoes on the carpet, the damned floor is already showing signs of dirt in high traffic areas!)
Anyone who knows me at all, knows I’m fairly fastidious about how my place looks. I hate lint on carpets, and that stain in the middle of my living room floor was absolutely frustrating the snot out of me. In fact, I wouldn’t invite anyone over until I could put my living room furniture back the way it was meant to be (the couch and chair had been moved to allow for room to clean the stain and let it dry.)
I can’t tell you how happy I am that it’s now (mostly) fixed. I think I’ll apply some more oxyclean tonight to be sure no remnants of the stain come back… And yes, I know to rinse thoroughly, or dirt will build there.

sounds like an awesome time. I mean besides the freakin thunder which would be super scary but cool to see it I am sure while you were jumping… I dont’ think I could ever do something like that to freakin scary. So when are we going to see you girl? drop me a line when you get a chance.
Ya that sounds good, airplane adventures are better than carpet stains… who jumped????
Jer did — It was my birthday present to him, but it had to wait til the weather was nice, and we weren’t booked or out of town… So last weekend was it. Turned out the moment he jumped (err, was pushed actually) the lightening started, and it started to rain. I was legitimately afraid for his life, to be honest. I guess it adds to the adrenaline rush… ?

Hardwood has it’s own issues, though. Like, it’s cold in the winter, and dust collects very quickly in the corners making it look dirty.
Grass maybe my only option. It would have to have built in sprinklers though. And, a way to shield the furniture from the spray of course.

Ya, once you go to the ‘snot’ discussion, R, you definitely can’t go back. I feel good about going there, myself.
Its all about hard wood floors.
Another option would be to grow grass instead of have a carpet…It would give you that outdoorsy feeling…
