I bought a bike, and I am still in self-evaluation-mode…
I bought a motorcycle on Thursday night!!!!!! — A Suzuki SV650S — It’s a really pretty bike, which has custom farings, and a custom black paint job. 2001, which is exactly what I had hoped for in terms of model years.
Jeremy was very helpful (very) in the purchase. Because he had much experience with riding, and I certainly didn’t, I asked him to test ride it for me. He came back from the quick ride saying, and I quote, “I lost track of my ass in the seat” — I guess that’s a very good sign! After much consideration, and PLENTY of research online, I decided that the SV650S was a great bike for me. So, I bought it.
Jeremy rode it back to my place — And I was very thankful for that, because since my time on the pathetic excuse for motorcycles during my “BC Safety Council” Course over 2 months ago, I haven’t had *any* time on a bike. So, I haven’t had ANY road time on a bike in about 16 years. Needless to say, I was so thankful that Jeremy didn’t mind riding it to my place for me.
T-Minus 17 days and counting ’til my birthday and tonight I was reminded of why I do take stock year after year around my birthday. It’s a good thing, and I don’t believe that doing so in any way detracts from what’s most important — A meaningful life that fulfills my dreams. Tonight I was hurt by issues of the past. I was at a party my brother was throwing for Diane (which was a very fun time — Don’t get me wrong) but also tonight was one of those times where I was reminded of what I believe to be important. *sigh* I really, really hate hurting. Thank God I have friends I can call on at all hours to talk to — *hugs* Vern.

Super congrajulations on getting two wheels of mega fun. Nothing beats an early birthday present to yourself….I bought myself an Ipod.
Congrats again!!! I’ll probably be riding to Princeton next weekend, with one of the Waynes from our course. You are welcome to tag along, casual yet entertaining pace. I know it’s far for an early ride, but the 3 is a nice highway to practise on.
ooh, I like the SV650′s. An old friend had one that he graciously let me ride around a bit, which I enjoyed mightily. The only thing I didn’t like about it was that the seat is a bit higher than mine… which meant I couldn’t have both feet flat on the ground, like I can on my bike.
But of course, that’s because I’m freakin’ short.
It was still a lovely bike to ride.
Youre older than 25 now, so you might as well just stop wasting 2 months of your life worrying about the next year.
If you just keep on doing what you have been doing… when it all comes to an end in 60 years time, you can say: “I had a very good life… there were lots or ups and many downs… and I lived.”
Oh G! That’s a fun gift — I LOVE my iPod! And now, I know I’m going to love my 650cc’s of Suzuki goodness, too. I can’t believe I finally (after 6 months) have transportation.
Jason — We *definitely* will have to go out soon. I don’t think I’m going to have time this week to get my bike in for new tires though — But if I do, I’m all over that!
Donna, I agree, it’s an awesome bike. Strangely enough, I actually seem to fit this bike better than Jeremy’s 92 Ninja from what I recall. Both feet are flat on the ground. That’s why I couldn’t look at the Hondas… Nice bikes, but I float on the seat, they’re that high.
V: Yes, I know. That said, I’m not 25 yet [wink] so I have a few years left… haha.
