Golden Parachute

I thought this blog entry by Wise Diva on “Misadventures in Atlanta” was an interesting one: Click here to read the entry.

Made me think… Who was my Golden Parachute? (Without the sexual interaction that the story discussed) Who was the first one on my “I have to call ‘this person’ because they will have the right things to say to me” list? I’d have to say, it’s several people these days, actually. That’s not a bad thing.

I guess it goes back to my Friday Five last week — I don’t really have one single best friend, male or female. There’s several that I consider close enough to trust with just about anything.

Who’s your Golden Parachute?

Mom and/or my best friend. Mom makes a better parachute because she can afford to save my ass financially… whereas my best friend is more of a “phonecall at 2am” person. :)

Or, in other words, my best friend is the person who, when I’m arrested, will be sitting next to me going “Wasn’t that FUN?” and my mom would be the person we called to bail us out. :)

    LOL, Donna & Term.

Sue… I completely get where you are coming from. I’m quite honest with my Dad, but I’m not sure he’d be the first person I’d call for some things. (Sorry, Dad, I’m sure you understand.)

Amazingly, my GP is my dad. I can always talk about anything in my life with him, although fortunately things are going pretty well so I haven’t really needed to. I don’t worry about telling him when I’m scared about things, and he gives kickass advice.

And then if I should ever (heaven forbid) become suddenly single again, there’s Clamb the GP who would always make me feel sexy as hell if I was ever doubting myself. Gotta love the Clamb!
