Hurt

Hurt’s a funny thing. It grows slowly in the pit of your stomach, flushes to your face, and then washes your soul with sadness. It moves over you like a storm, chilling you to the core. It’s so extremely hard to shake when the feeling has been initiated by the actions of someone that you trust. It’s a horrible, horrible feeling I could always do without.

But, without hurt, and dissapointment, you don’t have clarity. Because the actions that precipitated those dark, deep moments of sadness brought about by hurt also bring to you a realization that not everyone out there should be given the treasure of your friendship.

And that’s my deep, dark thought of the night. Yuck.

    I hear ya, Russ. :)

Dixie — I know what you mean. Hey, I was hoping to run into you in the elevator, speaking of making new female friends, but I haven’t seen you around. We should head out for a glass of wine or a java sometime!

    Hi again.
I share your thoughts on hurt. We either choose to acknowlege the hurt and go forward or we allow it to pound us to a pulp. In the past I’ve been pounded more than I care to remember or admit. Today, i honor the memory of those experiences and use them for strength to move on. I finally figured out that it won’t kill me.

I agree with you! My problem is that I’m very open: what you see is what you get and sometimes, people make rash judgements on who I am and decide I’m not good enough to be their friend and it hurts, esp now that I’m beginning this U program and one of my goals out of the program is to make friends in Vancouver….

Hi there,…..I actually left my job, yeay!
    I’m enrolled in UBC’s MBA program, full-time.
It should be very good, but in the meantime, why don’t you email me to carry forward the conversation?
