So this is what uckiness feels like?
I’d forgotten. It’s been so long since I’ve been sick. Other than the occasional migraine, and my motorcycle accident in May, I haven’t actually been ill in about a year now. This completely sucks! My life has been on hold for four days now, and today I decided that was quite enough. Two days off of work, and I’m ready to pull out all my hair from boredom.
So, I visited my doctor’s office again today. I saw a different doctor, because I go to a walk-in clinic, and the other doctor wasn’t seeing patients. This doctor asked what I was taking, and cringed when I told him. He put up his finger, said just a minute, he’d be right back. I’m thinking, how come doctors always have a problem with other doctor’s treatment??
He comes back in with a 7 day supply of a newer antibiotic that is time-released and fairly expensive, and assured me that I’d be feeling a lot better by tomorrow if I took that instead. He felt so bad for asking me to get rid of the other medication which apparently wasn’t as effective for resporatory tract infections, that he said he’d give me another sample pack in a week if I wasn’t cured. He tells me this stuff is expensive, but works very well.
Um. Okay. All I want right now is to feel better. Too bad the other doctor thought I was too cheap to pay for the more effective medication. *sigh* I feel like I’ve coughed out both lungs at this point.
I’m going to take another nap.

My bike is finally ready, Tom! That said, they are closed today, and tomorrow. And, who knows, maybe Tuesday due to the long weekend…
Seems like I’ll never get it back.
Hey Tanya,
Sounds like you have the germ I had a couple of weeks ago? I missed work becuase of that little puppy!!!!!! For me, I thought it was the change from heat stroke to A/C that caused my illness.
In the end it was rest, vloumes of juice and staying away from other sick people at work that got me back on the road again. Get better soon, the net needs you …..
My vehicle was sick too you know…
ps
Hope the bike is void of all bad evilness. I wish I was there for that event.
Hey Dayment! I am noticing a slight increase in energy level tonight… That’s a good sign! I’m heading to bed now, so hopefully I can get some sleep tonight (I didn’t get to sleep til 5:30am last night because the coughing was extreme).
So far so good… Thanks for your well-wishes!
aw, i hope you’re feeling better!
Or maybe I just missed the ‘resporatory tract infection’ sentence all together.
Now I just feel like an ass.
Noooo V. Get yer own! Sorry, this stash is all mine. I need it. Besides, you miss me at work don’tcha?
Mel — I don’t have extended medical coverage, so the previous doctor likely assumed I couldn’t afford the better, more effective drugs (which are about 20 times as expensive, but worth my sanity!)
Rog — Bronchitis in it’s worst possible form. Vern and I are both dealing with it, and if not properly mitigated, will turn into pneumonia really easily (has happened to me in the past). Colds I can easily get through… A bronchial infection isn’t possible to get past without intervention!
Urrg! Get well soon! (How’re the pills working? Any noticeable difference yet?)
It could have been that the other doctor was trying to save our health care system money and was not under the influence of a pill-pusing pharmaceutical company.
Just a thought
Is this just a cold or something??? Please tell me you’re not one of those people who go running to the doctor to get antibiotics ‘cuz you feel icky.
Suck it up!
(This is all based on the assumption that you have a cold or flu… if it is something more serious, I extend my apologies and a complete retraction).
Give some of it to me! I have a very important date on the weekend. Its embarrasing coughing up lungs
