I’d rather be…

I'd rather be riding my Suzuki SV650S right now!Mmkay. I don’t feel like being in the office this morning. It’s a beautiful morning outside, and I’d really rather be on my motorcycle riding over the bridge pictured to the right at the moment, rather than cooped up in my office working on PHP coding. I’m really enjoying this project, don’t get me wrong… I’d just much rather be on my bike right now. There won’t be too many more moderately warm, dry, sunny mornings like this for the next few months.

It feels like the perfect day to jump on the ferry and make my way up to the Sunshine Coast, and enjoy the many, many twisties I found there a month ago. Now that my bike is feeling comfortable underneith me, I’ve noticed that I’ve been craving trips like this more and more. It’ll be neat in the spring when I can ride without my hands freezing from the cold. Speaking of gear and warmth: I did get my sexy black jacket from back East — And it wasn’t as described! It didn’t come with fully lined sleeves as the website listed, but rather just a vest lining. So, back it goes. What a pain. I’m going to have to find a way to get my shipping costs returned to me. As if that online purchase wasn’t frustrating enough, the boots I bought on eBay still haven’t shown up, a month later. I’m so done with wearing hiking boots with riding leathers. I look like a dork. I guess I need to get PayPal to return my funds. *sigh*

What would you rather be doing right now?

Heading south, to warmer climes, Baja is particulalry enticing right now. But for now I will have to wait for next year’s motorcycle adventures.

    Daytons I say… Daytons.

I hear you… anywhere but inside staring at my computer. So much client work… so nice looking outside my window. You know it’s bad when you are working on two computers at the same time so when one takes its time to do something you don’t lose any time as you can switch to something else on the other one….

What would I rather be doing?? How about polishing up a classic. I just got an old motorcycle as a project bike. It is a 1985 Kawasaki 900 Ninja that I think can have live breathed back into it. We’ll see.
I may post this project up as a series on my site.

Is it wrong to comment out of sequence?
You are so right about time running out on nice days. Its raining here at the moment but I want to drive my new car as much as possible before it goes into storage for the winter.
I couldn’t agree more about the coffe thing. I usualy go to Artigianos because I’ve had good luck with coffee there. There was a time when I wouldn’t drink coffee at all while away from Nelson because it was better to have no coffee than shitty coffee.

  • NetChick says:

I hear ya, G!! I hate shitty coffee. Nothing worse than getting all psyched up for a decent cup o’ joe, only to take a sip, and either get a mouth full of burnt crap (we all know where that came from) or so watery that one wonders if there is any espresso in it at all… And, I always order 3 shots, so that’s pretty bad.

Here’s to a nice afternoon in Nelson!

Hooray! The sun is coming out…I’m going to take the wagon to town for my daily double americano.

on bike. With a new cell phone in my bag.

  • Cin says:

Outside. Definitely. Preferably with my partner-in-crime, the Canon digital camera I’ve been lusting after these many months, a good macro lens, and the winning 6/49 ticket in my pocket…

  • Utenzi says:

Weirdly enough, Tan(ya) I’d rather be mowing my lawn. Since I sprained my ankle last week I’ve not been able to cut it–and it’s way too long. Besides, being outside is fun even if you’re just walking back and forth like that.
