Biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve at the moment is friends who ‘trade up’… As in, the person made plans with me, and then got a better offer from someone else — This usually happens with very little notice, so I can’t even make plans with someone else. What’s worse is when they aren’t honest about it! Okay, it’s shitty that you are cancelling on me to do something with someone else, but don’t lie with some pathetic excuse before heading off to ‘do something better’. That’s just rude.
What’s almost as bad, is someone not letting me know if they are accepting my invitation until the very last minute, because something else better might come up. Thankfully, the friend who used to do that quite often has cleaned up their act. I don’t mind “No, I’m booked that night” or, the occasional “Can I get back to you tomorrow?” — Just respect the fact that I could be inviting someone else out, and if you leave it to the last minute, it leaves me without anyone to do something fun with.
…What’s your biggest pet peeve?

my biggest pet peeve?
hmm, have to be people who refuse to take personal responsibility for their actions and then blame others for their poor choices/actions.
the meth-head that recently made the news by suing her dealer certainly falls into that category.
I just posted my top five–I shoulda tagged you! Pedestrians in the road is probably #1 for me.
I’m there with ya! Actually, I don’t even accept a “maybe”. I don’t think I’ve ever given someone a “maybe” because I couldn’t make up my mind. You tell me your idea and it takes all of two seconds to let you know if I’m in or not. And backing out of stuff is total bullshit. I don’t think I’ve ever done this either therefore I know it’s possible not to be that way! grrr….
I’ll go with the counter-point of Sophie’s pet peeve: Cars in crosswalks. And cars who don’t realize that ANY intersection, marked or not, is an automatic “pedestrian has the right of way”.
OK OK!!!! I’m sorry, I’ve traded in reading your blog for someone elses!!!
No, just kidding. I would never do that to you…

Apparently you have no manners. How about you go somewhere else, troll boy. IP address logged.
That’s another pet peeve of mine… People who comment with stupid names, and leave pathetic comments anonymously (lame). Thankfully it’s very rare, and I have many ways of banning and deleting.
ps: Paul! You & Rachel are missed! When are you coming back??!
YELLOW WAX BUILD UP!! AhhHHRHRGGG!!
That beautiful, wealthy, nerdy girls don’t show up at my house to whisk me away to a lavish lifestyle, to which I would quickly become accustomed.
Mine’s kinda the same, with harsh results. If you say, lets get together to me, and I ask what you are doing next fri, or the following fri, or whatever, and you say, I don’t know, ask me that fri, Your Gone! So GONE! If you can’t schedule into your non life what you just asked to do, I don’t need you around.
By the way, I am planning my next scoot trip – happening next aug/sept. So yes, I do plan ahead and I do follow through.
My biggest peeve… this week anyway… is tourist families that have to walk 5 people across the sidewalk on a busy street while they are gawking at the scenery! Usually they don’t have a clue that there are people trying to get around them! (That would be me!)
Also, I HATE it when you hold a door open for someone and they don’t say thank you… or even NOD at you, like you are the doorman or something!
Ah… now you’ve got me started!
I FINALLY got around to blogrolling you, BTW. Sorry it took me so long!
Hey, thanks Deni!
Love reading yours…
Trading up!?! how rude. My biggest pet peeve – tailgaters or those who weave in and out of traffic. I spend a lot of time on the road….
I’d have to agree with you on the trading up thing, followed closely by folks who won’t get themselves to a dinner engagement on time.
I used to think it was a Vancouver thing – now I think it’s a lack of respect thing. People who pull that simply don’t get follow-up invites.
I hear ya, guys!
Then again, I [sheepishly] cancelled on Zoe last night on fairly short notice, after I found out that Cin couldn’t make it, and my workload was getting steep. I guess I’m one to talk now.
I hope to see you both soon though, Cin! And, Zoe, I’ll see you on Sunday!
I have a ton
But I like yours. The only thing worse than FRIENDS who trade up? BABYSITTERS who do, at the last minute. It happened to me hours before leaving for a wedding. Clearly the girl’s friends called up with a “better offer”.
Grrrrr!!!
Here via michele!
OMG, how freekin’ frustrating is that?? Yikes.
I think mine is when I’m getting ready to walk across the street and I will not even have my foot on the street yet, I’m still on the sidewalk, and the car coming on the other side of the street stops and waits for me. I know it’s a nice thing they do that, but now I have to hurry across the street. haha Hello, here from Michele…
