FANTABULOUS TIME!
I had an absolutely spectacular time last night…
Michael and I arrived to the 2005 Captain’s Dinner around 6:50 or so, by cab… It was really, really cold out last night, and with my stilettos on, there was little chance I would have made it walking in one piece. By the time we’d arrived there were already about 60 people enjoying drinks and ordeurves in the Trophy Lounge. We grabbed beverages as well, and made our way through the packed room to catch up with everyone. Everyone looked so sparkly and amazing — I’d forgotten how great everyone looks when they aren’t wearing spandex. Okay, most of the rowers do look good in spandex, but it was a nice departure from the usual attire we see each other in.
The speeches in the main hall were refreshingly short, and the awards went by very quickly as well… I thoroughly enjoyed Robin’s powerpoint and speech to add some life to the Crash Tucker award presentation. Halarious! Our table was the last to be up to the food, but most of dishes were still stocked, and the meal was really enjoyable. There must have been 100 or so people that made it out last night, and everyone seemed to have a blast.
The DJ was fun, although, the 80s music could have been mixed up with some newer stuff. That said, I could have gone up and requested something, I guess… So I shouldn’t really have a right to say otherwise. One neat addition to the usual music was some flapper stuff which everyone seemed to enjoy. Nice change of pace, and fun to watch everyone dance to.
I’m still grinning ear to ear from the night! The photos are up — Go check them out in the photo section, or, click here to view the slideshow in a new window! …As you can see, I did end up wearing the corset, and yes, weirdos, if you look closely in a few of the photos, that is some nipple action. [blush]
Thanks for accompanying me, Michael — You made it an extra special night!

Looks like you had a great time. I don’t get to dress up too much but it’s always fun to go out for the evening.
