Okay, Dad… Here's your blog entry…

My Dad just called, and after asking about the weather, he says “Dear, you haven’t updated your blog all weekend.” …To which I replied, “Um, Dad, I don’t have a computer at home right now, so I can’t update my blog on the weekends until I get back from my trip!” …To which he replied, “But, don’t you have a computer at the office you can use?”

Okay, yes, I do live a block from my office, but no, Dad, I am not going into the office to update my blog on the weekend. Halarious!

Maybe I should make *him* a guest blogger while I’m gone. ;)

So, for you Dad, here’s my late weekend update!

Friday night was a total blast! Michael and I, after work, got dolled up and went to the EA Christmas party (from which, I have a ton of photos, but sadly I was so groggy this morning that I forgot the battery to my camera, so the photos will have to come tomorrow.) I don’t think I’ve ever seen the *entire* convention centre used by one event before! Holy crap! Picture this… Not one, but two stages of live music, 2500 people, gigantic plasma screens that projected the music and speakers to everyone who wasn’t near the stage… The event was quite the spectacle! I was able to meet many of Michael’s team, all of whom were super nice (one even gave me a hug when she met me…) and a good time was had by all.

Saturday was spent running around town, going to Costco (I have to feed my addiction occasionally), and getting ready to head out to Vern’s gathering and club night. Again, fantastic night, lots of dancing, and too much Grey Goose. Unfortunately, the premium vodka flared up what I believe to be an ulcer (I’ll go to the doctor today), and most of Sunday was spent in bed in a great amount of pain.

Michael was super sweet, and ended up taking care of me yesterday which actually started about 4am that morning with me writhing in pain from my stomach, which felt like someone had taken a hot poker to several places of my stomach lining… But thankfully by last night, most of the pain was gone, and I was able to get a good sleep.

So, there you go Dad (and faithful readers who missed my blogging this past weekend) — There’s your NetChick update for your Monday morning…

What did everyone else get up to last weekend? Any adventures you’d like to share?

I’m really sorry you were in pain this weekend with the ulcer, Tanya. I’m even trying to ignore the writhing image since I know being in pain is no picnic. I’ve never had an ulcer but I’ve heard stories! It’s nice that Michael was there to baby you a little.

I buried a dog this weekend. It was already dead so I didn’t make the situation worse or anything. That’s about all I got done. I’m way behind on my Christmas shopping.

Pulled my new beau out of the closet and introduced him to a roomful of drunken rowers… Fun was had by all and only favourable responses from all sides thus far. Yay!

I also saw “Rent” for the second time – if you have not yet seen it and you have a soul – get to a movie theatre and see RENT!

  • NetChick says:

Dave, I’m sorry your weekend wasn’t better. What an awful thing to have to do.

Lara… Sweet! :) Glad the beau has been elevated to non-closet status, and that everyone enjoyed meeting him… Drunken rowers? Like, there’s any other type??

Hmm, now that Core is over, I went to WHistler for the weekend and took my 1st ski lesson. I loved it! was quite the natural by the way.
Now, I’m back, scheduling information meetings to figure out where I’d like to do my internship and eventually work after the MBA is over in a year from now.
So far, a mix of retail, entertainment and high tech. A good mix and overall, that’s the kind of research/approach I’m undertaking.
