Mark this day on the calendar!
It’s 2006. I’m an internet professional.
What did I do today? I shopped online for groceries for the first time in my life. What’s wrong with this picture?
I really, really hope this new company in Vancouver doesn’t let me down — This was an excellent way to get my household needs (which I have sadly neglected because of my terribly busy schedule) (even beer!) for only an $8 delivery charge.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Yay for new ways to make my life easier!
EDIT: I’ve had a number of people email me for the link, as they didn’t see my comment on it… Here’s the new company in Vancouver offering this service: Click here for the EZ Grocer website — Minimum order is $50, with an $8 delivery charge, and orders over $200 are delivered for free.

so, uh… what’s the url? =)
EZ Grocer
I guess that would help… Huh? I’ve got my fingers crossed!
Hmmmmm, I could never leave my house! I checked a few prices and they are on par with safeway at least.
cool!
I’m so going to check that out. I had been considering spud.ca but hadn’t gotten off my rear. We did a couple different organic produce services in Edmonton where they’d bring you big bins of fresh veggies once a week, but as they didn’t do the staples as well we still had to go to the store. We have this problem where we don’t get around to actually going to the store and we just order in or eat out all the time. Must stop. Tks for the link!
I used to use Spud(.ca). Much smaller selection, as they specialize in organic produce – but it was damn handy as long as I used them.
Except I cancelled it when I discovered that I actually like grocery shopping. I’m a sick, sick puppy.
I used to use Quick. They were fabulous. I didn’t trust them with meat or produce, but they were fabulous for everything else. Once a month, they’d come and bring me my staples, and all was well.
Best of all, I could simply load up last months list, say “yeah, I’m out of this, and I need this as well” and all was good. Loved it.
Must check out this ezgrocer thing.
The one in Atlanta went out of business. I need to search for one here in Houoston. I have never heard anyone complain about wilty lettuce or otherwise crummy food. It would certainly help with the impulse buying–and you could wear your pajamas!
I used a similar service a few years ago, that has now gone out of business (unfortunately). I hope EZ Grocer has more success, cause I think it’s a phenomenal idea.
I used to shop online when we lived in Utah. I figured I saved $75 to $90 because I didn’t impulse buy.
I should probably start doing it again…
I’ve heard about this in the US. Was wondering when it would be available in Canda.
How do you know you won’t end up with bruised tomatos and wilty lettuce? (I guess if you do, you won’t be ordering that again, eh?)
PS
I see you stopped publishing email addresses. Nice.
