I’m so looking forward to rowing again!
This last Friday night, while out watching boobies with a bunch of friends (see Lara’s post below — Ha!), Deanna mentioned that she was looking for a fourth person for her quad.
I couldn’t believe my ears! I’ve been making it known that when I get back to the club, I’d love to find a set crew that I could rely on rowing with, having fun, and generally not taking the regattas too seriously. (I just don’t have time to go to all the regattas…) This, apparently, is hard to find at our club, because there’s a lot of fantastic atheletes amung us, and most want to participate and compete in as many regattas as they can. Finally, Deanna is offering exactly what I wanted — A great group of 3 other chicks that I’d really enjoy rowing with.
I’m so excited! I absolutely loved rowing in a set quad when I first started rowing, and now, one of my previous crew is back, and she’s one of the 3! My whole focus when I started rowing was to participate in a team, and recently, when faced with the reality that I might be rowing solo for a while (I’m so behind right now, as I haven’t been out in months) I just wasn’t very motivated to get back out there.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect, too. Michael is about to embark on his first month of Learn-To-Row, and Deanna and crew would like to start the first Sunday in April… Brilliant!
I’m giggling with anticipation! Bring on the workouts! (And the beer with the crew afterwards!)

Yay! Enjoy your crew. It makes such a difference in one’s motivation to get on the water. Us solo rowers will be watching you enviously from our much tippier boats – more than likely submerged in Coal Harbour. Blech.
Hi! Super happy to hear you’re coming back!!! It’ll be great to see you on the dock, on the water and in the pub afterwards
love, corree
