Dooo beee doooo…

Yay! Or, not. Yay, because we’ve finally finished building the last of the furniture for the office… M seemed to thoroughly enjoy playing with glue, while putting together the drawer units, and now we’ve got a place to finish organizing our crap.

Or not, because, well it’s Sunday, and I’m sooo not ready for another work week quite yet. Mind you, it’s only 3pm, and the day isn’t over yet.

One of the theatre system options I'm considering -- The Bose 3.2.1.This morning, I spent some time researching home theatre systems and computer speakers for the office. I walked out of Future Shop with a decent pair of Altec Lansings for the office, but I’m still puzzled about what I want to do with the home theatre in the living room. I listened to a nice, basic-yet-pricey, Bose stereo system option (the Bose 3.2.1 GS Series II) which actually sounded good. When I was managing a Sony Store oh-so-long-ago, I was never a fan of the Bose home theatre options (The 901s were beautiful speakers though) but perhaps they’ve done it right with this $1500 system.

I dunno. I’m going to drag Michael back to Future Shop now, and have him listen to the options I looked at this morning. Perhaps he can give me an unbiased opinion.

All I know is, that stupid Sony micro-hifi system I’ve had for years is NOT going back into our living room. Anyone want it? Still works great, except the cd player needs cleaning. It’s yours!

Heh… Lisa jumped in first, sorry Rog! The only stipulation is that it needs to be outa my place fast… So, Lisa, when you get downtown next, we’ll load-er-up in your van with the speaker stands!

Al — I was going crazy without a theatre system, so I did a bit of research, and bought a reasonably priced Sony system which will meet our needs — $999, and no rear speakers to deal with. Colour me a happy camper with the quality. And from a Sony? I was shocked.

Thanks for the offer to bring me down to your fav. hifi shop, though!

Hey Tanya, I’ll take it if it’s not already gone… I can put it in my rec room downstairs. :) Let me know. Thanks

Glad you’re getting it, Lis! I know you guys will enjoy it… Let me know when you or Rob are available to grab it! Even during the day, I can just run up from the office if Rob’s in town.

    Whoa!
    It’s mine!

I need it in my living room more than Lisa needs it in her downstairs rec room. ;)

    Please ?!??!?

No no no! No to Futile Shop!!!

    :)

Go down to HiFi Centre and check out their Denon Mini systems paired up with some B&W speakers. AMAZING Sound for the same kind of money as a Bose system, but better sounding. :)

I’ll even take you there on my bike. Please… just look at other gear other than the Bose systems… :)

    Awww c’mon!!!

Are there no benefits to being bookend #1 ???

  • NetChick says:

Aren’t you a menace! Lisa asked nicely first, so be a good boy. ;)

I guess I’m not going to hear the end of the bookend issue for a long time. I guess it’s only fair, because I still bring up that ‘other thing’ every now and then for a laugh. Tell ya what, I’ll drop that, if you drop the ‘bookend’ label! Deal?

Hi Tanya, thanks very much for the stereo system! We really appreciate it, and will put it too good use. I just got hit with a wicked flu bug, so as soon as I feel better, I’ll come downtown and get it out of your way. Or maybe Rob can pick it up if he’s downtown doing a job. I’ll give you a call soon. Thanks! :)
