What is your favourite time of the day?
…Mine has got to be that last moment of the day, just before I drift off to sleep. It’s at that very moment, no matter how difficult or trying my day has been, I can blissfully let go of all the stresses that have accumulated to that point and drift off into another place.
Yesterday was a very trying day for me, due to a large amount of cash I had to ‘let go of’… I won’t get into details here, but I can say I’ll be happy if I never have a ‘surprise’ like that again. Shit happens, I guess. I’m going to let the stress of it go, and see if there’s some way I can recover some of my funds.
But, it’s days like yesterday that make me realize just how nice it is to relish in that wonderful, blissful moment before I slip into dreamland. Man it feels good to just let it go.

4:30am.
I read somewhere that many people have a connection with the time they were born at. I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve always enjoyed that time… when it’s quiet, and dark, and the sun hasn’t quite started to come up yet, but it’s on its way… when the city is mostly asleep, but there are dribs and drabs here and there…
I’d vote on morning, when your eyes first open and see the sun peeping between the blinds, and it’s wam and calm, with the bed cuddly and quiet, except for the morning birds.
Even better when it’s a Saturday morning and no work to look forward to.
My favorite time of the day is those first 3 or 4 hours. I do most of my reading between midnight and when I go to sleep in the 3am to 4am area. Everything is quiet and I find that’s the best time to read a book.
I hope your financial strain is momentary, Tan. I don’t suppose it went to a good cause like a new motorcycle. Without a bike–when do you ever get a chance to wear your leathers?
The two (sometimes three) hours I talk to my girlfriend on the phone when I get home from work.
Runner up: midnight until I go to sleep. I’m often wide awake then, and it’s usually very quiet, with no sounds of construction or cars. I miss the days, though, when I lived near train tracks, as the 3 AM train going by reminded me of home. Another downside: very few people are awake, so it’s often–but not too often–a lonely hour or two before heading to sleep.
When I get to see my darling husband during the day; an unexpected last minute meeting to run errands…then the day doesn’t seem so long without him. He is my little piece of sunshine, and reminds me what is truly important.
About the leathers… if I may comment on that (he he he)…
Knowing Tanya…I am sure she will find a use for them regardless of what she rides! (ya… I am bad!)
My leathers, Dave? Heheh… I’m keeping that to myself. Never know when you’ll need a good set of riding leathers, I say!
Wow, there’s a good mix of morning/night/unGodly hour people here, isn’t there? I used to be a late, late night person, but that changed a long time ago. Now, I’m in bed and asleep most nights by 12:30. What can I say, I’m getting old!
Wow! Shauna was indeed vary naughty.
Tanya–you’re not getting old, only maturing like a fine wine. How did that sound?
about half an hour before sunset….
Yummy….
When it’s finally me time!
oh yeah, here from michele’s!
Definitely evening/night….It’s quiet and I can think straight!
