Keep on walkin'. Seriously!
I think I’ve been brought to my knees the past couple of days with Norwalk… You know, that awful virus that causes severe gastro-intestinal distress? I had a flu shot this year, so it’s likely not that, and besides, the symptoms I’m dealing with aren’t classic flu-like.
Instead, I’ve been barfing, and well… No need to go into details.
Honestly? I must be allergic to dinner with my Dad. That’s gotta be it. The last time I was this sick, I had dinner with my family planned, which I had to cancel at the last minute because I couldn’t keep anything down.
Yesterday, because my Dad’s immune system is already compromised, I wasn’t going to take the chance of having him over for the nice roast beef dinner I had planned. That cancellation was completely dissapointing to me. We’ve been planning this night for over a month now. Oh well, we’ll have to put the roast in the freezer and have them over another time really soon.
My entire day yesterday was spent in bed. Thankfully, after M went to pick up Gravol at about 3, the puking ceased enough for me to actually eat something and keep it down. This morning, I was actually feeling well enough (other than weak) to row… Mind you, I did drive to the club, and Andrea and I were off the water by 10:30, but it was really nice to stretch and get some energy back. We love “Neil Sedaka!” (That’s our pet name for the double that we’ve always rowed.)
This afternoon, I’m volunteering for the Learn To Row regatta, which Michael will be racing in… It’ll be fun to see him with my old LTR1 coach kicking some ass out there today, and having a great time while doing so. I hope my energy level doesn’t diminish too much…

Sucks that you’ve been sick lately but I’m glad you’re on the mend.
Hmmmm…. sounds a bit suspicious… do you think you might be making a move to join “my” club? (maybe I’ll need to bring YOU a fleece blanket )
Well, whatever it is, I hope you do feel better soon. take care.
Ever see the movie Annie Hall, Tan? There’s a scene in it where the Woody Allen character is so sick he can’t do anything–until his gig on The Tonight Show (or something like that) is canceled and then he starts eating and is fine again.
Take care of yourself and get better: and don’t get sick again–it is still quite cool out!
Awww I hope you feel better soon, keep fluids going like gatorade if you’re having intestinal distress so you don’t get dehydrated!
That is if you can keep them down in the first place!
Nope, I won’t be in that club for a while, if ever, Lis… Thanks for playin’! [grin]
Thanks guys, I’m feeling mucho better today. What a difference a day makes!
