Memory (err, nightmare?) lane

I was over at Adena’s ‘Lunatic Rambilings’ site today at lunch (yep, I had a very late lunch today due to some emergency computer issues in the office) and read her post on what her daughter did to her son recently. It’s a funny story — You should go and read it.

It got me to thinking about all the horrible things that I did to my brother while we were young. Geez, I remember throwing a knife at him once when I was about 10 — Thankfully it missed him and stuck in the wall near him instead — And another time when I beat him up, only to have my Mother hold me down so he could hit me back (ya, I wasn’t too happy about that) — And yet another time, when we were playing hockey in the basement and it turned into a hockey stick brawl. Yikes. I was one mean, mean sister.

Now that I think about it, I guess I’m darn lucky that he’s still talking to me. Thankfully, neither of us suffered permanent scarring from our childhood!

What’s the worst thing you’ve done to a sibling?

Haha I think the better question is what am I still doing to my brother. I think it is so hilrious that when ever we get around each other at my parents we instantly turn into six year olds.

    “mom jamie’s looking at me!”
“how come he gets the bigger cookie”

oh to be six again and have the valid immiturity excuse.

Ugh, I always used to steal my sisters makeup and earings….but they were older, not much I could do to them. However, my one sister farted on my head…that leaves scars….big ones

My older brother and I used to whack each other with the flexible plastic Hot Wheels tracks. It’s a wonder either of us made it into adulthood.

The worst thing I did to my brother, I guess it’d be Christmas morning, we were preteens and he tried to wake me up and in my sleep I managed to scratch him down the chest, he still has the scar, sadly I don’t even recall it.
the worst thing he did to me…shot me with a b.b. gun, of course he was stupid and did it IN FRONT of my parents! I thought my dad was going to shoot him!

when I was small but my brother was smaller (and profoundly-irritatingly-clingy), our overprotective mother used to go ape when my brother got to the phase where he was suggestible enough to actively consume things when told to from the lawn that he was mobile enough to mobilise himself onto. Garden worms, small mushrooms growing in the turf etc. Result : my brother being carried back inside in panic-stricken haste to be fed a pint of hot water laced with salt and then be forced to vomit.

At some stage I realised that my mother was so paranoid that if she was told my (increasingly clingy and irritating – remember) brother had consumed earthworms or mushrooms, she would still feed him salt water and force him to vomit without my having fed him anything. RESULT!

He is now under psychiatric observation. I’m sure it wasn’t anything to do with me?

Wow- can’t pick just one…I was horrible to him, and yet he still loves me.

    I will give you two:

    1) I use to whack him in the head with my cabbage patch kid…you know the dolls with the hard plastic head.
    2) I once told him that my butt had a secret to tell him; when he bent over with his face pointed towards my butt, I farted!!

(yeah I was horrible to my older brother)
