Point form round-up from my long weekend:

I’m doing a quick lunch-time blog post, as I’ve had a really busy workday so far troubleshooting stuff instead of getting to my to-do list…

Here’s some random thoughts from this past weekend:

  • Set-sale auctions are an incredible way to get great deals! Vern, Michael, Danielle and I scored on Saturday morning/early afternoon when we attended an auction for the upcoming movie, “Rogue” (Jet Li flick) — I walked away with 3 top-of-the-line Suomy helmets, 2 sweet floor lamps, and a car-load full of men’s clothing. I actually wished I’d taken a few photos of us sorting through all the clothing in Vern’s garage, it was a halarious scene… Picture Vern and Michael stripped down to underwear in a flurry of clothes. All said and done, after they picked through what fit, and D took what she wanted, I am still going to have a ton of really nice clothes to post on eBay. That haul, and the helmets should yeild some really nice profits!
  • People distribute the strangest things on DVD. While over at Shauna and Mat’s for dinner on Saturday night, they threw in a DVD for their cat, Kramer. Would you believe that the cat actually noticed, and sat close to the tv and *watched* it??! (I’ve got photographic proof of this… It was the strangest thing!) By the way, thanks guys… We really enjoyed our evening with you both, and the spread was delish! Next time, it’s dinner at our place!

  • There’s simply nothing better than breakfast at Cafe Crepe on a Sunday morning. It’s becoming a weekly habit for us. Their crepes are so damned good!
  • The Paul Van Dyk night at Plush left me feeling completely ripped off. The music was lackluster. The croud was bland. The show started early because it was Sunday, and wound down around midnight. (There’s just something completely wrong about an evening starting while it’s still sunny out.) I think it’ll be a long time before I spend that kind of money to see a DJ again. …And, for the record, Plush just sucks. Their bartenders suck. Their management and staff suck. There’s nothing about that place that I enjoyed. At all.
  • I wasn’t feeling very happy on Monday… I’d taken the day off just in case I needed recovery time from the show on Sunday (I didn’t), but ended up feeling irritable and annoyed until well past three o’clock. Once again, I’ve had an ongoing headache for over a week which started to get unmanagable when I woke up on Monday morning. Thankfully by late Monday night, it had subsided, and I felt like my normal self again. I’ve obviously got to get back to my doctor to troubleshoot this and other issues of late.
  • I’m so glad we’ve got another long weekend coming up next weekend. Hopefully, I’ll be able to enjoy the whole thing this time! …Happy Tuesday, all!

Rog: It was a DVD that contained all sorts of outdoor creatures like birds n’ stuff. Very amusing.

Donna: I’ll be sure and let you know about the next one!

My dog LOVES to watch TV, it doesn’t even have to have animals. In fact, just now, she walked around then did 3 circles and faced herself to the TV and is watching it. It’s A&E’s Cold Case files!

aah! Why do I keep hearing about set-sale auctions AFTER they happen? People need to keep me advised of these things!
