White water is calling my name!
First, a little Friday Silliness!!! Click here to see a very creative Flash GUI animation. I laughed! Well done! (Especially the use of the “instances”!) It’s even funnier if you have ever worked in Flash! Enjoy…
And now, onto my Friday blog-entry! Man, I’m so excited! The day is finally here! I haven’t been this excited to get out of town in years… Seriously!
Rather than borrow Vern’s car to head up to Whistler as we had originally arranged, Michael has thoughtfully rented a car from Alamo (which is across the road – How convenient!) because he says, and I quote, “You’ve been hauling my ass around for nearly six months now, and dammit, I’m American and I need to drive.” Who can argue with that? Honestly, it’ll be a nice break to be a passenger for a change.
And, to make our Whistler adventure that much more exciting, I’ve booked some class III rapids for us to experience in a raft tomorrow! I’ve been White Water Rafting in the past, but Michael hasn’t — What better way to enjoy nearly-summertime in Whistler than to get soaking wet flying down a quick-flowing river? The run-offs at this time of year are apparently spectacular up there, and I’ve got a waterproof disposable camera ready to capture some of that action!
Of course, I’m also very much looking forward to dinner at Quattro’s on Saturday night — I’ve never been to the one up in Whistler, but the same restaurant in Vancouver is excellent, so I’m sure we won’t be dissapointed! Mmmmm… Steak. Yum!
My stomach had better hold up this weekend, that’s all I can say. I had a bit of a setback last night, even with consuming half a beer. I don’t think those herby-tasting crackers I ate agreed with my currently delicate stomach. Grrr.
So, that covers my anticipation for this weekend! What are you looking forward to getting up to??!

I am looking forward to sitting in front of a huge 104 inch wall of hockey and watching my boys play like I dont think they ever have before!! The city is crazy and electric.
Came to your site a few times from Miranda, never commented. Hope you have a great weekend. you and your sugar sound like awesome people. Safe rapids!!!
Oh! Have fun with the rapids! I LOVE to go whitewater rafting.
Have a fabulous weekend! Hope you’re feeling better
ohhhhh whitewater rafting, one of my fav things to do.
I’ve done a few trips up there, you’ll have a blast. Just don’t volunteer to be a ‘rescue victim’ if they ask. Even with the wet suit, that water is damn freezing(yes I did volunteer, but i did do a lovely backflip off the boat).
This weekend, catching up on sleep, maybe a bike ride to squamish for coffee too.
Ooh that sounds like fun!!! And I loved the animation. SO adorable!
Here by way of michele…
(all I’m doing this weekend is recovering from my week in Vegas)
I’m looking forward to watching as many World Cup games as possible! Enjoy the rafting – it’s so much fun.
Michele sent me.
BTW I like your spammer box!
Watching World Cup, yay!!! Go England…. Relaxing with my hubby and my pregnant tummy.
Having my Father-in-law over for a BBQ on Sunday to celebrate his special day. (Fathers Day in NZ is not until Sept, so I celebrate twice every year)
And relishing in the thought that I have one week of work left, and then one and a half years off with my new son!
I hope you have the best weekend, you both deserve it, and MJ….. hang on tight to the raft! LOL
This is the best time of the year! Weekend is here, summer just days away, and hopefully some none-rainy weather soon! The BBQ is ready! I’m heading into the Vancouver for some R&R with some friends–we may paint the town…Woo-Hoo!
Remember, you said Beer fixes all ailments, so stick to that rule.
Hey guys! Have a wonderful time.
btw.. Rob loved the Flash animation from friday silliness. Let’s get together soon at our new house. Can’t wait to hear all about your exciting weekend. enjoy!
Have a marveloous time! Not much going on for me–a nice quiet weekend with my Sweetie!
Loved the funny.
Oops, I’m late. I was looking forward to providing some buskerial entertainment on our local boardwalk with my pipes – and have done so quite expertly. Sundy, as per usual, I’m off to visit my grandmother for some much needed relaxation and down-time – also to do her laundry and take out her garbage. I love the weekend.
OK, I am IN LOVE with Whistler. I lived in Seattle for a short while and drove myself up to Whistler a few times. I took my mountain bike with me and went to town. I love how you can walk everywhere, and how you don’t see cars the whole time you’re there. I took the lifts up with my bike a ton, but you have to have a bear bell on the handlebars, which scares the crap out of me. *sigh* Ryan and I were JUST talking about going to Whistler this morning! We’re thinking about either August, or sometime in the winter for skiing…. Can’t wait to hear about your trip!!
You guys ever go to the San Juans? Good for a short trip, but it is, afterall, smalll islands, so not much to do. We stayed in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. We drove around to the other side and went sea kayaking, which was so much fun! In case you need more ideas….
i hope you took lots pictures…
Wow! Hope it went as well as you hoped — sounds like a lot of fun!
Loved the animation thing — I watched it a couple of times.
Visiting this Monday afternoon from Michele’s.
