Man, oh man!

Migraines SUCK!

I get one about 2 or 3 times a year, and you know, I think it’s directly related to depo shot issues.  At least, that’s what I figured out today while groaning and wishing like hell I had blackout blinds in my place.  Instead, I’ve got a whitebox in the bedroom, quite literally.  For a short while, I even took to laying on the bathroom rug with the door closed.

Ya, I know.  That’s gross.  It’s the only dark spot in our place… And it isn’t like the rug was dirty.  We do vacuum regularily.

So, I’m just dealing the aftermath now, thankfully.  It’s like a hangover without the fun.  Just a dull ache, really.  Oh, and I really didn’t have a day to lose at work right now.  That really pisses me off.  [self talk: Let it go.  No point in getting anxious about things I cannot change. /self talk]

Hope you all had a delightful Thursday!  One week and counting ’til the long weekend and a weekend away for us!  I can’t wait!!

And BLOG UPDATE: I was hoping to get to updating my site with my own look and feel but alas, it’ll have to wait until tomorrow or the weekend… Sorry about the Kubrick theme guys, I know it’s pretty ugly!

I feel for you, Tan. I get migraines regularly but midrin works for me so as long as I take it in that 15-20 minute window things are fine. You might try some type of eye shade (sleep mask) instead of changing rooms. Some of them work very well to keep light out.

In a bind you can also put some folded up aluminum foil in papertowels and use that. The foil works well to adjust to your head shape and keeps light out–and you can almost always find both items nearby.

Java… weed, as you know, makes you hungry. It certainly doesn’t kill pain — At least, I’ve never experienced pain relief with it. Then again, I don’t inhale ;)

utenzi: GREAT idea… I had tried a blindfold (you know the type, the ones they hand out on trans-continental flights) but, it still let in too much light. I’ll give your other idea a try the next time!!

I am fortunate enough to not have migraines, but I got some killer headaches before my surgery. Feel better and take it easy!
