Monday update, part 2

Well, yes, it’s actually Tuesday, but I went out with Jenn last night and had too many glasses of wine… And tipsy blog posts can sometimes get me into trouble.  ;)

The weekend was a lot of fun!  Friday night, M took me out to a very nice dinner at the Rain City Grill — Aptly named for the weather today, but Friday was beautiful.  We enjoyed an awesome meal while watching the sun set over English Bay.  Afterward, we walked next door and found a couple of matted prints that we both liked and picked them up for our place.  Imagine that!  Stuff on our walls!  It’s a miracle!  (They aren’t actually up yet, though, as we need to put them into frames first… But they’re coming!)

Saturday, we went into the office for a bit so I could finish up some work that I couldn’t get to during the week, and then picked up my bike which I just bought off of D to have it cleaned up and overhauled.  I’m so excited about finally having a really nice mountain bike after years without.  Here’s hoping I don’t get hit by a car downtown!

Saturday evening, we went to see “Little Miss Sunshine” finally — Wow, what a great movie!  Excellent character development, fun plot, some great lines, and one scene which actually had me laughing so hard that tears were streaming down my face.  Now, that’s a movie!  A definite must-see, don’t wait for the video!  Even though it’s been out for some time, the movie theatre was packed — I’d say that was the sleeper movie of the summer!

After picking up my bike on Sunday from the bike shop on Commercial, complete with a shiny new squishy seat, M and I enjoyed a cuppa java, (you can’t do the Drive without at least stopping for one cup!) and then got home just in time for a visit and technical talk with Faye.  I have decided that I just don’t see my friends enough these days!  It was great to catch up with her…

Sunday evening, M and I took out my Dad and Sharon for dinner at the Olive Garden in Langley.  Although the food was what I expected, I couldn’t believe the atmosphere.  It had a strange feel to it, complete with some hostess screaching that the other hostess had stolen her table to seat us.  (This was after we were moved because, well, actually, I’ve no idea why really — Something to do with “stressing” a waitress because she had a table of 8 near us?)  Weird!!  It was nice to catch up with my Dad and Sharon though!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend, too!  I’m already counting the moments to the long weekend, as I’ve actually taken an extra day for a total of four days off.  Yay!

You were at the Olive Garden in Langley (merely a 2 minute drive from my place) and you didn’t even call?!?!

Major loss of friend points there, T.

    Tsk tsk.

Jen: Ya… I couldn’t believe it. My jaw actually dropped. Um, if that girl were my employee, she’d definitely been kicked to the curb.

Rog: Dude. I was taking my parents out for a birthday dinner! Shall I have brought the fam damily over for a beer afterwards? I had to drive us all back to Surrey after dinner!
