That was a full weekend…

Let’s see…  I’ll do point form for now, and elaborate a bit more later:

– Michael and I were actually a bit early waiting on the corner for our ride to Saltspring with Tim & Jody

– Tim & Jody were a few minutes late arriving, due to Friday afternoon insanity on the roads

– We were five minutes too late to catch the 4pm ferry to Swartz Bay

– So, consequently, we were 5 cars too late for the 7pm ferry to Saltspring Island

– And, therefore, we all sat in the car for a total of 7.5 hours that day

– That’s a LOT of Pathfinder time, but thankfully Tim & Jody are fun to travel with, and Michael seemed to enjoy their company as well

– Michael and I have decided that we make great travel companions — This will come in handy for the cruise in November! :)

– The B&B was pretty, well-situated, clean, and run by a somewhat angry cat-lady who had a black cloud above her head, and enjoyed sharing her frustrations with her guests.  I found that really odd…

– We arrived and got settled in by about 10:40pm or so — And, decided not to join the party-animals at the pub as originally planned for that night; We were all far too tired

– The next morning in the villiage, I got my tarot cards read for the first time — And right afterwards, Michael said I owed him $10 as half of what she said were verbatim his words from the previous week… Spooky!

– We ran into Vern right afterwards, and found out he’d forgotten his suit at home.  This was his sister’s wedding!  Ooops.

– Later, when we got to the wedding, we found Vern frantically rushing out to get another mixer from town, because his was broken.  (Found out later what really happened… I’ll let him explain… heheh…)  Thankfully, he didn’t miss his sister’s wedding in the rush of it all!

– We watched a beautiful wedding outdoors, surrounded by beautiful landscaping, on an amazing piece of property right on the water.

– I helped Vern DJ throughout the night, and even though the borrowed/rented crossfader was non-functioning, I think we had a successful party full of happy, dancing wedding guests.

– Michael was a little neglected as I was helping Vern, but being the happy-go-lucky guy he is, he seemed to have a great time anyhow

– We didn’t get back to the B&B until close to 3:30am

– The ferry the next day seemed to take far longer than the 2.5 hours — And thankfully we had reservations or we would have been screwed getting home

– I had a really great weekend away, but I was sure glad to crawl into my PJs and watch tv with my Sweetie for the rest of the evening!

Gawd.. that was insane. It was the best of times… it was most infuriating of times. And, aside from the bruises, the recovery is well along.

Okay, so… what next? What damage can we do next?

You can never have a wedding without something going wrong & many people being under an enormous amount of stress. Fun times, fun times. Maybe this is why I’ve never bothered getting married…

Sounds like a very hectic weekend, Tan–but weddings rarely are pulled off without some measure of chaos creeping in.

I hope your week goes smoothly to allow you to recover. Toodles.
